Current predictions have it over Charleston at game time. That is 6 hours away. I think it will be fine.

It's not a matter of where the storm will be at game time. It's about asking a team and fans to travel towards the storm the day before. It's not like these predictions are 100% accurate.

Have you seen what a major hurricane leaves behind? Flooding, structural damage, injuries, deaths, power outages, impassable roads, etc.. you can't just say it will be gone and no worries by Saturday.

How would ticketing work? IIRC the USCe game had more lead time than this.

You could also have 10 million people from the coast staying in hotels more inland

This morning the map said the red dot won't be directly on top of Gainsville at kickoff Saturday. It's not going to be a problem. I'm 12.

Preparation talks start today. LSU will start contacting event staff today. The decision will be made Wednesday afternoon.

Here is the gfs forecast for the game. The storm gets just close enough to maybe compelle inland tropical storm warnings for the counties east of gainsville but unless the track shifts further west I doubt it will affect the stadium much. The uncertainty and having to make a decision several days in advanced may be the only reason that this game is moved.

When was that? Only other Hurricane Matthew I could find was in 2010. The Floridan game was not moved that year.

the storm itself may not be an issue but whatever is left in its aftermath is the problem. Id move it for pure safety considerations:

Yea, thats how it should be, really just commenting on the people making definitive statements on how the game will have to be moved. Really impossible to predict right now

AT&T Stadium in Dallas is available.

NRG Stadium in Houston is available.

Lots of open hotel space.
