I asked earlier and was told he cannot be on the sideline.

Tigers need to come out in arms and him right in the middle after halftime

Damn that sucks

Wonder what a player goes through mentally to be watching the first half in the locker rooms

Hopefully it makes him go wild and he plays like Khalil Mack in Chicago’s first game this year

can not be on field, which includes sideline.

This is going to sound douchey, but I have to say it:

If they have to leave and go to locker room immediately when they get penalty why would you think they can be on field later?

yes he can.

Other than communications (specifically listening in on the opponent) the NCAA only cares about "field of play".

The booth personnel is up to the team, for now. There's probably some rules coming on that, but for now there is no rule about it going back to the olden days when you had player/coaches.

They have limited the # of headsets, so he probably can't have one of those.

ETA: correction, those rules passed in Jan of this year. Nope, not in booth or as poster above said "not in communication with the team".

Always wondered what they do when they are on the road and targeting happens. Do you just stare blankly at the walls for a half? Majority of these road team locker rooms are shite.

As far as I know he is allowed to go through pre game warm-ups and be on the sidelines as if it is a normal game, but he isn't allowed to participate until the start or 3Q.

So not on field not in booth. How about in the stands? Middle of student section. He is a student after all.

He doesn't have to communicate with team to learn in real time by watching the game live.

He can participate in pre-game and warmups with the team. But in NCAA parlance he has to "remain out of view of the field of play" during the game while disqualified.

ETA: it also says must be under team supervision, so that means he has to be in the stadium, and can't be in stands... or in viewing boxes (fan area, not team supervised).

Hopefully they win the coin toss so LSU can have the defense on the field after half.
