Does Brian Kelly use a fullback in his offense?

It will be interesting to see if our offense will have any major changes in the attack.

Hope not. Was he recruiting any fullbacks at ND?

What are we running?
Notre Dame Box? Single wing? Veer? Triple option? Wing T? Zone blocking? Wishbone? Spread option? Go heavy with 3 TE and a fullback that we don't have on the team?

The I is still an effective formation when used the right way. I for one miss it.

We should run Amos Alonzo Stagg’s 1896 version of the short punt formation....

Between this and your incessant whining about the NIL era, you would probably be better off watching VHS's of seasons from the 80's and 90's than watching the 2022 season.

I miss the days of the Power I being run in the SEC.

I think every offense needs a FB that is at least reasonably good at receiving on the roster.
Short yardage and redzones it is necessary. If he can catch you can catch some people sleeping by lining him up at TE or just slipping him out on a misdirection.
Can also motion him out from H or TE spots and make many screen plays work alot better just so you're not telegraphing every time on the field.
And of course, at least once every game you have to just line up and beat some sumbitches.

If the 90’s featured more winning I probably would.
The 00’s were the best IMO, and 2007 had it all for LSU and CFB in general:
- tons of seniors including Flynn who waited his turn
- team-first attitude
- the variety on offense: going from 22 tight I to 5 wide

Hope not. LSU's base offense should be 1TE/1BACK/3WR.

Kelly loves to run the ball, but FB is not really in the cards. He uses a big line and big TEs to impose will. I think he understands that imposing your will in the SEC is easier said than done, so he does have to adjust some.
Read this article, and you'll understand a little bit about alot of things (maybe even why LSU was so appealing for Kelly). It's eye opening, really.

Wouldn't mind seeing a two tailback set... depending on the situation.

I don’t know why this board thinks Kelly runs a Les Miles-like offense
