You can't actually believe the low intercept ratio was all on Daniels? BK drilled it into him for two years. And BK drills it into Nuss now.
_______________

Majority of it was Daniels in his first year here. He had interception problems at Arizona St and was hesitant to pull the trigger when he got here. BK talked about it heading in the off season before his heisman year.

The coaches and Daniels deserve credit for the huge improvement between seasons.

Yea, a bit.

Replacing this much production + new offense has not been very fruitful for LSU team's of recent past.

Nuss has not shown anything to me that would lead me to think he is immune to the affects of all this turnover.

I have major concerns because he's unproven. I think the arm talent is there, but you have to be able to read defenses, identify blitzes, know how to check down, call an audible, know ball placement and just how to perform with millions of people watching in the stadium and on tv.

You can have all the physical talents, but if it's not clicking upstairs, you better hope one of the backups can step in and get the job done!

If the bowl game numbers tell us anything, it’s that Nuss will let it rip. He won’t throw as many interceptions as he did his first two years, but he’ll have several games where he does throw them.

Nuss is going to test defenses in a way that Daniels wasn’t willing to year one, but grew into doing last year. As long as he doesn’t throw more than one pick per game, it’s probably going to be an acceptable trade-off. His arm and mentality will keep defenses stretched out and should result in plenty of open throws and big plays.

The only thing I worry about with this team is will we be able to rush the passer. Nuss and the offensive skill people are talented and have experience, with our Oline it’s almost impossible that the offense will be an issue.

This is Nuss' first year as a starter. Burrow improvement came year 1 to 2 as a starter.

Burrow also spent year one playing in an unfamiliar scheme that had him playing under center and dropping back for the first time in his career. He did pretty well in it considering that the system didn’t really play to his strengths.

Burrow definitely improved a lot, but the change in offense had a lot to do with how dominant he was in year two.

I know he has thrown 4 so far. 2 to Stamps.

well, can you tell me his stats so far? Is he 25/40 with 4 ints? Is he 250/400 with 4 pics.

This is absolutely stupid.

Not worried but he’s not going to be Daniels and he’s not going to be Burrow.

Can we qualify this. Are you talking 1st year starter Burrow, or second year starter Burrow?

Are you talking about 1st year Daniels at LSU, or 2nd year?

People seem to forget, burrow was in his 4th year but never started. He struggled for over half the season, and didn't come on until late in the year. He was still projected as a 5th to 7th round draft pick going into his 5th season.

Daniels would not even throw the ball down the field his first year at LSU, so sure, he had very few interceptions...and this was his 4th year starting. He was dogshite in several games, and even his first game against Florida St his Heisman season. Were do you think Daniels was projected being drafted going into his 5th season.

Nuss will have his ups and downs, but as some have said, he can make throws that many can't. He has a cannon, stronger than both Burrow and Daniels. He has great pocket awareness, and enough mobility to escape (much more mobile than Mett). He may struggle for a while, but he has tremendous upside, especially for the NFL. It would not at all shock me to see him come back his 5th year and be a heisman favorite. Hell, he is currently 7th on the Heisman odds THIS year. He can be a star in college and the NFL with that arm.

Sure he had practice, but he had never started.....THAT was the most important thing, he needed some experience....they all do. He came on late in the year with that same offensive philosophy, and showed flashes of what was to come.

CBK is, read btw the lines. Everything he says screams ball control O Run the ball, take way fewer shots than last 4 years. Keep D off the field. Nuss throws per game will be 20-25 in our wins.

LMAO. He has started exactly 1 game in his career, with 1st team reps. He had a great game and was MVP. Of course he will struggle some, as did Burrow and Daniels their first year starting at LSU.

It will depend on the game, and our defense, but you aren't going to hide that cannon for long.

This is true, but it also helped to have a very good OL, and 2 of the best receivers in the NFL right now, and a very good RB.

Boy wonder calling some of the plays got way too much credit.

To me a 3 to 1 ratio is good enough to win most games. 4 and 5 to 1 and we will have a shot at the ship.

100%

Nuss ints are as big or bigger concern than the defense imo.

No, Nuss will be Nuss and he very well could be yet another Heisman caliber QB.

If Nuss continues to play like he did in his first ever start in the bowl game throwing for 400 yds then I think us fans have something to look forward to.

He wouldn’t have had close to the same season he did in 2019 with the exact same 2018 offense. The 2019 scheme was built to take advantage of his strengths.

Play calling aside, the 2019 system was a lot more familiar to him. Burrow said several times that he had always played spread out of a shotgun and that 2018 was a huge adjustment because of that.
