CPM blames the players I blame the Pitching coach, Alan Dunn. Replace him this off-season at the minimum
I think you see some coaching changes but I highly doubt that Dunn is the one to leave and I don’t think he should be the one to leave

There’s zero chance he’s fired this year. This year has been disappointing, no doubt, but PM deserves and will get another year.
I’m saying this as person who has never liked PM, but he’s produced at a high level since he’s been at LSU. Another less than stellar year in 2020 and that’ll probably be it. But he definitely gets another year.

Valid points and I agree 100%. In my opinion all this over reacting is total BS (the fire CPM talk).
Here’s a interesting question. CPM is under extreme scrutiny with all the media outlets, cameras on every possible inch of the field, and social media. Is he smiling enough, is he coaching right, blah, blah...... How would Skip have handled coaching under this microscope?

The biggest two negatives i can put on him are managing his teams psyche for midweek games (only bothers me a small amount) and hiring of assistants. I cant point to a large amount of coaching decisions in game that have fricked this team over this year. He really just hasnt had alot of options because of injury. And it would take another year or two of injuries for me to blame that on him, as this wasnt a problem his first 10 years here

I don’t care for him or his style but he doesn’t deserve to be fired,he will retire soon imo.

He will retire with 5 years and 5 mil left on his contract? Doubt it

Hopefully Woody will be able to assist him in the coaching hires department. From what I’ve read Woody is a Skip guy right? I assume Skip and CPM have a good relationship, all this would appear to be very positive going forward correct?

I dunno about the relationship with skip mattering that much. He either has a vision that he can sell to woodward or he doesnt. But i know scott leaned on PM for advice when looking for a coach at washington, so i dont think scott is looking to fire the guy he asked advice from a few years back. PM is more respected around the country than most here would admit.

Paul and Skip are also very close. I highly doubt that Woody is looking to oust someone who his mentor thinks very highly of without giving him a shot to right the ship.
I don’t think Skip could save Paul’s job for him but their relationship will allow Paul to save his own job.

Listen to woodys opening press conference. He is very close to skip

I just recall reading or hearing something about it. I distinctly remember thinking this is a positive for LSU.

If you have ever heard Skip talk about Paul outside of LSU baseball you would find this statement hilarious, which I do.
Woody and Skip are tight, which leads me to believe he will listen to Skip but to say Paul and Skip are close is a big stretch. Skip likes him as a person but thinks Paul’s approach to the game could use some work

Nobody other than a fricking idiot

Not this year. It will probably be assistants let go first and if they don't improve next year then he would be on the hot seat.

And how many championships does Paul have ? 1 yea that’s right 1 ! And that was 10 years ago !

Do you know Skip personally?
I ask because Skip seems to defend CPM regarding some of his decisions on his Monday night radio show, main one that comes to mind is recruiting pitchers
ETA
The other I remember was early in the season & Hughes being in the lineup

That's most probably right. The biggest problem I see is the fact there's nobody out there to do this job at the level we all want.

If he does his job, he will sit down with Mainieri, go through the program success and needs for improvement, and then ask Paul what he needs to improve the program. If he is able for get that for PM, he either succeeds or fails and then you can let him go. A good AD will listen and work with coaches to help them help him make athletics successful.
Yep.
Let the season play out and we'll go from there.
