Lists of coaches who doesn't?

There's people that act as if coaches are perfect and don't frick up. Everything they do is infallible.

Got news for you....

Even NFL coaches frick up. Sorry to break it to you.

Les Miles will never be perfect. You just may have to accept that.

I'll admit that I'm not the biggest Miles fan. LSU could do a hell of alot worse though. They're are pros and cons to Les. The 2009 Ole Miss game and sticking with JJ this long are some negatives in my mind. However, his record speaks for itself and the players really seem to like him. That says alot.

I think we can all agree on this however. If LSU doesn't make a BCS bowl this year, Les should be on the hotseat. There is WAY too much talent on this team to settle for a Cotton or Capital One bowl.

I still don't like Miles. In fact, I'd take almost any coach over him.

Once Les Miles gets fired, We'll go ahead and let Mark Richt take over.

I see you haven't been around lately bashing the shite out of the team when they're winning.

The OL is PUNISHING teams.....

hmmmmm.....

You and Lee are probably backchanneling waiting for the next opportunity if it reveals itself.

The only time you show yourself is when threads like these pop up. I find that pretty telling.

Whoever still thinks Miles is a bad coach, should be ignored when talking football. Sooner or later you are what your re rod says you are. All the idiots wanted him gone in 08 when we had just brought home the crystal ball. He made a decision to get rid of a trouble maker and ha to start a redshift freshman. We still went 8-4. How many redshirts freshman have goo to great years. The argument that he has to have great coordinators is also stupid. What head coach doesn't need competent coordinators.

i'm back on the liking Miles train but that can change real fast depending on what happens with JJ and if he comes back this season and is starting over JL

i still think you cant overlook that he had named JJ the starter way back in the spring and not leaving it an open competition, especially with the way JL has been playing. I find it hard to believe that JJ was that much better than JL that Miles would name JJ the starter and clear cut guy in the spring.

who knows where we would be right now if JJ never got suspended. I have a feeling we wouldnt be sitting as the #2 team in the nation

It's quite funny to read shite like this about Miles when he has built a fricking mirror image of what Saban had around here. Conservative offense, run the ball to control the game and a nasty arse defense. The difference is Saban speaks like a car salesman and Miles like, well, Miles and that makes people think he's an idiot. People act like Saban could do no wrong when he was here but truth his he was getting booed for being conservative going into halftime against Ole Miss in '02.

I agree. And, I don't think he's a bad coach. I just think that his teams have displayed some negative characteristics over the course of nearly every season he's coached here. And, dating back to last year, we haven't seen those things change. I am not looking forward to the first game this year that comes down to the wire. It seems like every time that is the case, our offensive players are running around like they don't know what to do.

And, yes, every coach has frick ups. But, the best coaches learn from them. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how we've lost more than one game with Miles as coach where the time has just run off the clock. He still has time to learn, but he has to prove it to me before I'll just dismiss it as an "every coach does this sort of thing" deal.

He's an odd duck to be sure, but I can't argue with his record up to this point.

I've always liked Miles except for two periods of time:

1) Fake punt against Arizona State - first possession, new coach, on the road ... I thought:

That wore off by the end of the game.

2) He lost me temporarily after the Tennessee debacle. It took several games to turn it back around. I'm sure CLM lost sleep over the fact that TriumphTiger had actually lost confidence in him.

The eccentric Miles speak is awesome, except when we're 7-5 or after the Ole Miss/Tennessee clock disasters.

Whether it's accurate or not, I love the fact that he turned his alma mater down not once, but twice. Michigan is one of the most storied programs in college football history and he chose to stay in Baton Rouge. That's the public perception of the situation at least.

All said and done, I think Miles has officially crossed over into acceptance by the fan base. It only took 6 seasons...

... still, I hope we don't get into any situations that requires precision clock management at the end of a game.

I was very surprised to read that Les Miles was running this 2011 LSU football team over & over again to such an extreme getting ready for the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks is a fast to run plays offense between downs. I think that they can run one play after another within 8-10 seconds, very fast. So Miles had the LSU offense break up into two offensive teams over the summer training days. Leaving the number 1 LSU Defense to keep playing against two teams running on and off the field between plays, over and over.

Needless to say that the LSU Defense was next to dead after each and every day of training against that fast tempo. A very hard training workout, that was all summer & fall. By game day
LSU was razor sharp & Hard, ready to Roll. The game was the easy part to them. They are still razor sharp. You can simply see their body language, and fast moving style of attacking the ball. If they had swords and shields they would look more like the Roman Army then football players. And the people in Tiger Stadium are just as much a fanatic as the coach and players... The entire state of Louisiana is blood thirsty and must have always been that way. Every LSU fan looks like they're about to go crazy mad every Saturday Night. That's what makes them Happy.

I do not think that any other college football coach could have done any better then that.
In recruiting or training with a deep fighting spirit. The 2011 LSU football team is a Les Miles shining example. To his value.

The truth I'd the only reason miles won was great D coordinators and the ease of recruiting at lsu!

Sorry, I know you have the right to your opinion, but having been here a tad longer than the last 11 years I have to laugh when I read that kinda stuff.

Agreed. Great preparation. Where was this type of preparation for our offense the last 2 years?
