So that is the criteria for saying Les is better than Richt/Tubberville despite both having better seasons than Les' best because cirmunstances completely out of the coaches control happened to leave a 12-1 UGA team out of title game and a 13-0 Auburn team out of title game but put a 11-2 LSU team in?

It's enough for some retards to say that Flynn was better than JR.

I'm sure he doesn't remember. Being that he didn't play for LSU and was just using that to try to win an argument.

You have a way of wrapping the facts around your premise, instead of changing your premise based on the facts.

So, other circumstances are an excuse some of the time, but not other times?

quote:

leave a 12-1 UGA team out of title game
When the teams ranked ahead of you are undefeated, yes generally.

13-0 Auburn team out of title game but put a 11-2 LSU team in
You're comparing circumstances from two different seasons?

Anyone who would still take Saban back, they're people that made such a shitstorm over the 8-5 season publicly that they're trying (unsuccessfully) to save face. Once LSU beats Bama in Tuscaloosa this year, Alabama fans will begin to doubt Saban as a coach. And the reality is Les wins more than Saban, will win more games than Saban when it's all said and done, and will be revered as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the SEC. And no, I'm not a kool-aid drinker. I'm completely serious. This guy is going to post so many 10 win seasons, it will be unmistakable to anyone.

And plus, any LSU fan who says they would take Saban back can go suck a dick anyway. So how about that?

If you truly believe this, then why is there the bashing of those who aren't sold on Miles.

Why is their such anomosity towards those with differing opinions?
Maybe because many of them seem to seek out any possible basis for attacking him. It almost seems like weird personal vendetta or obsession.

There are definitely those types of people. But, there are still many people who just think that he makes too many of the same mistakes over and over again. And, being critical of something that he continues to screw up at is not a personal vendetta or obsession.

BTW, if Miles is at LSU for the next 20 years, I think that LSU wins 10 games 15 of those seasons, at least. The question is can he win an SEC Championship in that time frame.

Yep, good movie. I was in it.

Mark Richt had 3 SEC Title appearances in his first 5 years. Meyer had 3 in his first 5 years. Saban had 2 in his first 4 years and has had 3 in his last 6 years in the league. Tubberville had 2 in his first 6 years at Auburn. So apparently Miles is underperforming when compared to other great coaches in the league.

ummm...Miles had 2 appearances in his first 3 years

The point is one team took care of what was in their control and was left out due to circumstances beyond their control. The other team didn't take care of what was in their control and got in due to circumstances beyond their control. It's a pretty clear distinction.

This is the answer. Miles' performance as head coach has been up and down. The Ole Miss and other clock management fiascos, the co-coordinator ordeal, the inability to find and develop a competent QB for three years; all of these things really happened and are legitimate criticisms. He's always been strong in recruiting and has a phenomenal overall winning percentage but you can't pretend he's never had massive frickups. Most importantly, it looks like he's addressed most of these concerns and is becoming a better coach every day.
:kige: at least he's getting better and not getting worse. Of course it's only game 4 so there's still time.

There is gonna be haters even to a BCSNC coach! I feel whatever his antics, if we are winning, why not have the luckiest coach on our team.

I do not like Les' offense but he wins. Still think if he can't put points up it will bite us at least once this season. Your D can't pitch a shutout every week.

the Miles hater will move the goalposts every year.

Miles only plays seniors
Miles is the next Larry Coker
Miles will never beat Saban again
Miles will never beat Meyer again
Miles will never beat Saban and Meyer in the same year again
Miles game management sucks

...now the new mantra is "Miles will never lose less than 2 games a season". Saban lost less than 3 games one time while he was here. And Miles took Sabans '04 team to the SECCG in '05.

im curious as to what the next mantra will be. Miles could go undefeated this year with an SECC and a NC and you could start this same thread next year and the same idiots will be in it bitching about something else.

it was a hypothetical. but you're just the type of moron i was refering too.

As long as Miles continues to make the haters look like idiots im happy.

there are supposed "lsu fans" that won't even post after a win...but their post count doubles after a loss. what kinda of shitty fan is that?

and there are others, such as yourself, that can't even enjoy a win because they're too busy bitching on here during the game about minor shite. what kind of shitty fan is that?

Liking a coach doesn't necessarily have to mean you make a lifetime committment to him. I like Miles but he hasn't won anything in the form of a Title this year. After being left out of Atlanta for the last 3 years this is a big season for Miles. I would like to at least see it all the way through before I decide on success or failure. We can lose to WV and still win the West and the SEC. The reverse applies if we win here but lose the West this year was not successful.
