It is a know fact that while the young kids have book smarts, they do not have the wisdom to make major decisions in running major companies....fact....in time, you MIGHT gain wisdom, but honestly, with your attitude, and your "i'm right" stance, it isn't likely you will allow experience and wisdom to settle in on you. FYI, I played at LSU from 1984-1988. I also got my degree, and have a successful business career. I get tired of hearing bs spewed by a few of you kids who have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. You worship a guy that is statistically no better than many others, and certainly not lsu's current coach...why do you worship him? media spin, and because he is a smooth talker.......you are a politicians dream as far as voters are concerned....

I don't worship Saban. I just don't think that Miles is as great as you do.

Do you understand that DiNardo handed Saban a team that was full of talent? Not my fault Dinardo could not win with these guys. Go take a look at the LSU roster Nick inherited and tell me that team did not have talent. Losing to UAB yea Saban good job.
Shula also handed saban great talent. He inherited 19 players on that team that went on to play in the NFL.....he lost to ULM who did not have one single player go to the NFL.

I'm with you there. I'm tired of listening to people still talk about Saban at the LSU games. Saban fell flat on his face in the Pros ran back to college and inherited a pretty dam good Bama team and lost to ULM. Until Les Miles loses to a UAB or ULM, he is the better coach no doubt.

shite. I had forgotten all about that.

quote:Mark Richt had 3 SEC Title appearances in his first 5 years. Meyer had 3 in his first 5 years. Saban had 2 in his first 4 years and has had 3 in his last 6 years in the league. Tubberville had 2 in his first 6 years at Auburn. So apparently Miles is underperforming when compared to other great coaches in the league.
We have had 2 SEC Title appearances in 6 years....dude...wtf...we aren't some elite/entitled team that should be there every single year.....that's a pretty damn good %

Maybe the Tenn game when Lee was 16-23 for 185 yards while JJ was 3-10 for 30 yards.
JJ was also 5 rushes for 100 yards and a TD.
quote:JJ was also 11 rushes for 42 yards and 2 TDs.
Or the UF game where Lee was 9-11 for 124 (game winning TD pass) and JJ was 7-12 for 100.
So Total offense:
Plays/yards Int TD
JJ:
Tenn: 15/130 2 1
Fl: 23/142 1 2
Lee:
Tenn 26/170 1 0
Fl: 11/124 0 2
Regardless, you support replacing your starting QB because he has a mediocre game and the second string has a marginally better game? When both of your top QBs are inconsistent, that would lead to anarchy and instability.
I am a strong Lee supporter, and think that he should have been given some more snaps then, but I don't think the disparity between the two was consistently great enough to justify replacing JJ as the starter. I am able to see the situation from a larger perspective.

so you'd take Richt or Tubby right now instead of Miles

It sounds like you want to bukkake with Richt, Meyer, Saban and Tubberville.

he actually had 3 in 4 years, just not his first year. Pretty impressive until he went retard.

BTW, Miles has had 2 appearances. UGA just beat us down the first time.

Does Richt or Tubberville have a National Championship? If you gonna defend others and bash Miles then obviously you should be on the Bama message board.

No, the dufus former LSU player is saying that Miles is the best coach in the league. He's just stating that the facts state otherwise.

I don't worship Saban, but I believe a strong case can be made that he is a better coach than Miles at this point in their respective careers. The argument has nothing to do with eloquence, and everythign to do with the one statistic that matters: championships. Saban has three SEC titles, Miles only one. Saban has two national championships, Miles only one. Saban has one season with only a single loss, Miles has none. Saban has two undefeated regular seasons, Miles has zero. Saban had one overall undefeated season, Miles has zero. When Miles wins multiple SEC titles and multiple NC's, then he enters the elite echelon, in my opinion.
Many people are incapable of objectively assessing Saban because they are still resentful about the way he left LSU. It skews their judgment.

Steve Spurrier has had mediocre success at South Carolina. I guess he's not a great coach?

quote:So that is the criteria for saying Les is better than Richt/Tubberville despite both having better seasons than Les' best because cirmunstances completely out of the coaches' control happened to leave a 12-1 UGA team out of title game and a 13-0 Auburn team out of title game but put a 11-2 LSU team in?
Does Richt or Tubberville have a National Championship?

If you truly believe this, then why is there the bashing of those who aren't sold on Miles. There are many factors and many different ways for us to measure his success other than his abilities as a coach. Why is their such anomosity towards those with differing opinions?
