I'm sure other people remember better than me, but that mascot was pretty bizarre and never caught on. I think his first appearance was at the basketball games.

Whatever it's name was.

That thing led us to Atlanta for the first time. Then we euthanize it.

Pretty sure it was the opening football game one season. I remember seeing ads that "Ellis Hugh" was coming to Tiger Stadium. LSU wasn't the only school with an inflatable mascot though. Several schools had them.

Yeah that sounds familiar. I must be thinking basketball because I was sitting much closer, and Ellis seemed even more oversized indoors.

I pulled the picture from that thread. Boat thought it was LS-Huge so he couldn't search.

I remember he led the team out on to the field one night for a game and he got knocked over by a player near the sideline...he was rocking back and forth on his back trying to get up, but he couldn't get up...some trainer came over and had to help him up...it was greatness...

He was one of the crazy things from that insane 2001 season.

Along with the chick that shot a bow and arrow and hit the bullseye multiple times with her feet while doing a handstand for Ripley's Believe It or Not before the Auburn game.

Well that's what his name was played off of.

You can barely search anything from two weeks ago on this site. Something from 08 isn't going to come up. You can google but that's not the same.

Yeah, something about him being Mike the Tiger's long lost cousin. I saw in a nature show that male Tigers will sometimes kill and eat their male relatives . . . maybe that's what happened to him?

I've never taken notice of that.

I usually typed stuff into google.com to try to find something years old.

I was sticking up for you! I'd rather remember all the stuff you said than recall how to spell that thing's name. I have zero recollection of Ellis Hughes on the football field.
