Please don't compare Taylor Mays or Roy Williams to Chad Jones. Tayor mays is a freak with no body fat and ran a 4.3 forty before, its not natural.

and even he never really has to play man in USC def. and when he does he has problems, always a step late but will bring a death blow when he arrives.

And Roy williams was a pro bowler who ran a 4.4 in college and could cover in college. He got older and gain weight but has some of the best instincts ever. He won to many awards at OU to compare to Chad. Chad is faster then stelz. He could cover no one one on one. They hid him on def. He only showed up against sorry teams like Mississippi state. Chad is a 3 times better ath. the stlez kid just knew his role and did what needed to be done.

1. Chad Jones is really fast, and could be an
All-American Safety

2. Chad Jones needs to loose weight if he ever wants to live up to the hype for the upcoming season. Despite his height, he should be playing at roughly 227 (not a bit over 230)

3. Chad jones is not one of those people who could play pro football or pro baseball; he is one of those people that could play them at the same time ala Dion and Bo (lefties that throw in the high 90's are coveted)

Recap?

Or has the rant decided Chad Jones is going to be a pro-baseball players and NFL Probowler at the same time?

recap:

Steltz is faster than Jones
Steltz has better coverage skills than Jones
Jones is playing out of position at safety
HiredGun is Kige level retarded
---he will eat a turd if slow Chad Jones is ever a 1st round pick
---Chad Jones' future is in baseball not football
---Loston will start by the end of next season over Jones despite the fact that he won't even dress out this season

Well in all honesty without the Bama game in 07 we haven't seen the best of Chad, its been all hype.
He has been living off that hype for 2 years while being compared to LaRon.

I wish he would dedicate himself to football full time then we will see what kind of special player he is.

i agree, but to say he is playing out of position right now is laughable. He could possibly be our best player on defense and is the 2nd most talented IMO (behind Peterson)

He is a freak with all the tools that is for sure...

I mean he is huge and fast, I wonder how much he dedicates himself to film room and to playbook.
He may still be trying to get by on just raw physical skills.

And missed the chance to do what he did in baseball this year? Not a ton of apperances but when he was needed he came through in the damn clutch too.

That's got to provide some serious confidence.

Yeah and miss what he did in baseball...

Clarification: I think what he could provide on football field can be more beneficial than than 20-30 innings he pitches in baseball.
Thats assuming he pitches next year like he did throughout the college world series.

I think he could if he focused on one sport.
If he were to focus on football and gave up baseball then by his senior season, he would be Eric Berry/Taylor Mays hype good.

btw where are people getting Chad Jones runs 4.3 or 4.4 forty times? I am only seeing 4.5 or 4.55

So how do you know about specific playing weights for college football players?

Remember one of the slower guys to play safety at LSU was Ryan Clark. Hes right at 30 years old, still playing in the NFL and still making plays.

I don't know what Chad jones some of you have been watching but the Chad jones I've seen lately has been covering slot receivers from the cb position. So if he is a tad bit slower I completely understand. Now picture Steltz or Taylor mays covering trying to stick with Percy harvin...it's not gonna happen. The few games Chad jones has actually played saftet he has shined..Georgia tech, Kentucky (only two I can think of right now) Let the man settle down at the position before you start questioning his skills it.
