Somebody mentioned his name on the Recruiting Board, so I looked him up on lsusports.net, and I read his sisters comment under his Bio Page. Just curious

He got a 10 year sentence in 2010 or 2011. He was a habitual offender; it would take less time to write out the charges he didn't have levied against him.

CHRIS OLWELL / News Herald Writer
PANAMA CITY — Over pleas for mercy from the defendant’s mother, Circuit Court Judge Michael Overstreet sentenced Timothy Pope as a habitual felony offender to 10 years in prison Thursday.
Pope was convicted in November 2010 of grand theft and misdemeanor battery for beating a motel clerk and stealing a ring. Grand theft is a third-degree felony with a maximum sentence of five years, but Pope’s criminal history qualified him for habitual offender status, which allows the judge to double the maximum sentence.

Imagine that you're a public school English teacher and you had to grade that crap. People usually write the way that they speak. A good friend of mine taught English on the west bank of Ascension Parish. Her 11th grade students couldn't write complete sentences plus the idiots didn't know how to spell. It's crap like what you read by Pope's sister that the public schools are handing out diplomas to.

From guys I knew who played back then, everyone to a man said Tim Pope was the baddest MFer they had ever met.
The stories are unreal. Wrestling Heavyweight champ. Track champ. Unreal Football player. Just couldn't control himself.
Would have been a legend but now all just infamous
