Does Alabama run where Key lines up?

This my biggest concern. Key is our best pass rusher by far. Key likes to speed rush around the end. I just think with a freshman qb that likes to run and a good Oline it just makes it simple to run that way when key goes around the end. Our Dline has to play containment much like we played Johnny Manizel. We really don't generate much of a pass rush or push from the front four so keep Alabama between the tackles and let Beckwith and Riley do the tackling with help from Adams. Anyone else got ideas on how we stop their rushing attack?

Contain on the ends and don't be overly aggressive on him. You have to play a QB like him outside In

Key is a great outside rusher and does get neutralized sometimes by over pursuing.

But a few of his sacks have come by stunting and bulldozing up the middle so I think that will come into play a lot this weekend

I'm more worried about not getting holding calls because that dude is always getting held.

Play sound team defense.

If guys start to freelance outside of the scheme Bama will find the holes. Just gotta stay in position and take the fight to them

Yep I expect we won't get any help with holding calls from the refs. I can see the rant going full melt tomorrow WHEN it happens and no calls

Key wont just be speed rushing every play. He has to play his technique during running downs. Best way to stop Bama's run game is to get big stops on first down to create 2nd and 8 or more. Our secondary also has to be able to get off blocks. In the few Bama games I watched this season it appears their WRs are the best stalk blockers in the history of football.

This guy hurts is no Johnny Manziel, we will have a great plan for him. Key to the game will be reading the spread option. Playing assignment football and playing together as a defense. If we do that we can create some TOs and do enough on offense to win the game. GT

I think we're gonna see a lot of man to man coverage with a safety creeping up to help contain the run. I believe that our DBs can cover these Bama WRs one on one

Key has actually played sound run D. Teams have tried to pull a guard to block him, but he stands his ground every time. He handles himself really well for 235..

He came out of HS with TREMENDOUS technique. All he's doing now is polishing it up and learning new moves. Boy oh boy, he still has another year with LSU...

You need Bower on one side to contain there run game or qb scrambling. Key will have to slow himself down a bit.. Let the inside backers fill and we should be fine

I do hope Bower plays a big part with stopping Hurts. Seems to fit the bill for that job.

I think so also. I think Adams follows their TE Howard around like he did against the ole miss leading receiver. He shut that ole miss guy down.
