A few folks have said "Well if he loses to Bama and Ole Piss then he has to go" WTF a loss is a loss. So if he losses to WVU,and Ms St. but beats Bama and OleM then all is good in Tigerland.. We just havent seen any consistency or progress since we played GT in the Peach Bowl. Yeah we blew out Auburn and played well but the coaching staff was outcoached in the majority of our games last year. Not sure if that is going to change

Not really.
I wish I had the luxury of being able to refute things without giving a reason as to why.
Miles in 5 years: 11-2, even, up, down, up
Coker in 6 years: 12-0, down, down, down, even, down
The fact that Miles won a championship in year 3 whereas Coker did in year 1 isn't even disputable.

do what he should
which is? Go back and look at the recruiting class of 2005 and the attrition since and tell me what Miles "should" have done in 2008 and 2009.

Some of yall are fricking retarded.
Miles has had 3 elite seasons and a respectable one last year. Outside of 2008 which everyone knows was not shocking due to circumstances he has done a good job.
1. He won a NC in his third year so he has shown he can turn talented recruits into a great team. Many of those players barely fricking knew Saban when Saban was at LSU.
2. Miles is one of the top recruiters in the country. He gets recruits that everyone wants including the other big coaches. The teams adds as much talent as it was under Saban.
This means Miles can recruit what many call Saban caliber recruits and develop them into a NC team (evidenced by the NC in year 3 not year 1).
3. Only if we extremely overgeneralize the coker situation can he be related to Miles. Several things that stad out are that Miles had a better resume previous to his job at LSU then Coker did before taking over Miami. Coker also had his success in a weak league instead of a conference the caliber of the SEC.

The buyout isn't as bad as it looks on the surface. Per his contract, the buyout is structured such that he would receive 50% of his annual salary each year for twice the number of years remaining on the contract. Further, the annual buyout payments are reduced by any salary he receives from other sources. So, hypothetically, if he can get a job making half of what he made at LSU, or more, LSU's annual payments under the buyout would be zero. He's also obligated under the terms of the contract to try to find work.

With a tough schedule, the uncertainty of our QB play,no depth on DL,and the ??? marks of our offensive play calling,,, a 7-5 season is likely. Would they give him one more year?
Les keeps his job under these circumstances and we get to hear over and over again how lucky we are that we are not back in the Curly Hallman era.

The buyout is not the major problem facing those hot to have Miles gone. The major problem is that coaches 3 years removed from a NC, winning, and in good standing with the community are not asked to step down.
There is not a coach in the modern history of college football, that I'm aware of, who has been forced out as quickly as some are proclaiming will happen here if a certain number of wins don't occur this season.
Sorry, but all this chatter is little more than wishful thinking on the part of some. imo

Agree its unlikely. However, a 7-5 record with all 5 losses in the SEC, also unlikely, would get it done. If that were to happen, Miles would have a losing record in the SEC over a three year period.

i say lsu hires john gruden then we hire his buddy keyshawn johnson to coach the offense

This is the SEC. Every game is tough. The most important position on the team this year and are where we need to see the most improvement is at coach.
The elite teams do not rebuild (at least publicly), they reload. Miles and his apologists have been "rebuilding" since the end of 2007.
Its time for the .0001% of football fans who believe Les is a good football coach to buy a television and form a support group.

Bull shi**. LSU is more attractive now than when Saban left. No one wants to follow a good coach, they always want to succeed the dolt. I guarantee you that we will have more qualified and interested coaches to choose from at the end of this season than when Saban left. The 3 year removed BS is just that, BS. The talking heads that raise that as an issue are former coaches who have been pitched to the scrap heap and now find themselves relegated to TV or Radio vs. the sidelines.

Doubtful. A 7-5 season will probably result in Crowton's head being served up as well as an ultimatum to Les about the 2011 season, which if he screws that one he is finished. Personally, my thinking is that this team is good for anywhere from 8-4 to 6-6, and mid-bowl, which if they screw that one, more than Crowton's head might be served up.

Quite frankly, it might be time to start feeling Will Muschamp out.

I highly doubt we go 7-5 or worse.
LSU will not have a 7-5 record this year. 9-3 likely; 10-2 a long shot.
In 2011, with Miles as HC, LSU dominates. Period.

No. 7-5 is a perfectly good and acceptable result at LSU and if you disagree then you're just a spoilt bandwagon fan. Actually, based on this we can conclude that you expect nothing less than an NC every year and would fire your coach even after an NC season.
Miles should get a raise after 7-5.

I told a friend who went to Texas last weekend that if we don't make it to Atlanta then he's gone. I don't know what the situation with his buyout would be after this season, and think there's the possibility that they give him one possibly two more seasons at the most if they continue to underachieve. But if they don't make it to Atlanta this year I believe he'll be let go.

What if he goes 11-1 with that one loss to Bama who goes undefeated?

yeah, that's fine. He'll buy himself another season if that happens, maybe two if that's enough to put them into a BSC game and they win.
