There were years when you would have begged for a year like that even losing the NC Game. You people are spoiled bad! I remember telling my Brother-In-Law after LSU won the NC under Saban that it was the worse thing to happen to LSU Football. Now LSU has to win it every year!

Issues is... this has probably been asked several times since that season was history. As for the question about winning every game, then blowing the championship... you have to understand that the "fans" on here would rather gloat over how much "they called it" and endure 2 or 3 losing seasons just to see O fail and get fired. The fan base is really sad.

So the worst thing to happen to LSU football was winning the national championship?
Posted on 3/6/18 at 9:37 pm to DustyDinkleman
Yes. The undefeated regular season, with the most difficult schedule in the country, beating bama in Tuscaloosa, beating nearly every notable bowl winner, beating top 25 teams by 20 pts consistently, was certainly the most disappointing season. Don't know how most fans fought through it.

the national championship game was surely the most disappointed I have ever been after a game.
however, the 2011-2012 season was some of the most enjoyable LSU football I have ever watched...total domination of every team we played capped by a monster comeback over UGA in the sec championship game.

So In your opinion, winning every game up to the championship and then blowing isn’t as bad as losing multiple games in regular season?
Seriously just curious.
13-1 with a conference championship vs 9-4 and winning/losing a meaningless bowl no one cares about
You tell me

We beat every team we played, including Alabama. We won the SEC. Dont let a media-driven exhibition rematch change your perception of a top-5 all time CFB season.

2012 was more disappointing IMHO. The loss to Bama was inexcusable as was the late collapse vs Clemson.
Posted on 3/6/18 at 9:56 pm to DustyDinkleman
It was the best season and the best team we ever had.

How anyone who watched LSU play football from 1989 through 1994 and 1998-99 could think that the 2011 season was the most disappointing is beyond my comprehension.

It really was disgusting

I said after we beat Bama in November 2011 that there was no way LSU wanted a rematch. When the BCSNCG was announced, I knew we were in trouble ... I hate when I'm right, but that game in no way takes away from a magical 2011 season.
Posted on 3/6/18 at 10:54 pm to DustyDinkleman
Nope. We beat everyone on our schedule that year
Posted on 3/6/18 at 10:54 pm to DustyDinkleman
LSU had the national title won after beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Too bad Iowa State had to ruin everything for us.

In recent times (2000-2018), 2004 pretty much blew
Posted on 3/6/18 at 11:13 pm to DustyDinkleman
It was one of the best regular seasons in NCAA history. The ending sucked but the 4 months leading up to it were pretty fricking great.
Posted on 3/7/18 at 1:06 am to DustyDinkleman
Hardly.
I could list probably 20 or so worse.
For just a sample, 1989, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2012 were more of a letdown in season terms.
One game doesn't break a season, but then I guess every season without going undefeated and a NC is a letdown for some.

did you really just ask if our 1st undefeated sec season in over a half century and a sec title season is the most disappointing season ever?
