I remember them calling Dr. Hypolyte Landry over the PA many times in the late 70's.
Since he was the coroner of EBR Parish, I wonder how many times he got paged at the games when a body turned up cold somewhere...

Remember those announcements and wondered what it was all about. How about those Butch Baum commercials?

Used to be a lot more drunken brawls in the stands back then too. Several a game. Everyone would turn around at look to find the center of the circle where folks were looking to see who was fighting. It's much more family friendly now. Those were also the days before tailgating. Everyone would go to pregame parties at people's houses, then there would be massive traffic jams getting to the stadium for the 7:30 kickoff.

They need to go back to the big block letters in the endzones.

Yes, It seems like these were going off every few minutes. I assume many Doctor's did not get to stay for some of those games. My first game I recall was back in 1963 and they were calling Dr.'s then.

I went to Earl K Long for residency in emergency medicine in the 90s. We staffed Tiger Stadium for the home games and were given parking passes and 2 tickets to cover certain sections of the Stadium. My first year of getting "free" access to the games included being stuck in the Ole Miss visitors section a year that they stopped us. I heard "Hotty Toddy" one to many times that day. The following year, I paid $500 to the Tiger athletic foundation plus the cost of season tickets because I did not want to hear that shite in such close proximity ever again!

That's funny. I did my residency at University of Tennessee starting in 1997. We also got "free "tickets to the game in exchange for working at first aid station. That was my one and only UT game I attended because I worked over half the game taking care of fight victims as well as helping one gentleman replace his prosthetic eye which popped out. On a bright note, I did get to see Peyton Manning play.

Yes, and I also remember when people smoked at the games. A cloud would hang over the stadium.

I've never been to a game in Tiger stadium but I'm old enough to have started "looking back" at fond memories in my life so...even though I've never heard or seen any of the things posted, I love reading this thread and the posts by all the "old" tiger fans. Thanks guys!
Btw, I did get a sneak peek inside the stadium one day. Maybe it's worth telling some day...

I remember getting to the stadium early and hearing a guy named "Red" yelling "Tiger Bait" at the top of his lungs from the NEZ. Whole damn stadium could hear him.
I also remember that people could hang signs. For some reason I remember most vividly the sign that said "Tangi Tigers". I never knew what that meant until I realized it was for Tangipahoa.

I absolutely do.
But wasn't it "Please call medical exchange"?
ETA: Figured it may have been addressed already and it was. Had not read the thread before posting.

Yes remember it all. My first game was in 51 with my Dad. My brother got his season tickets in late 50's and went to mamy games with him. His son still has those tickets in North End Zone, section 213. So been in their posession for 57 years or so.
