How much do you usually pay doing it this way? How much will they generally run for the bama game?

What is face value for upper deck tix?

And how would they make money sellign to you at face?

Where's the best spot to find them?

For the Bama game?

On this message board, you are looking at getting raped.

You may do ok outside of the stadium, but if you are coming all the way up from "Tippy Toe", that could be a gamble.

I wouldn't want to drive that far with the thought that I may be able to get tickets.

you will be able to get tickets outside the stadium for the Bama game. Just do not buy from the guys that look like they don't belong. The closer to game time the cheaper the tickets get.

In addition to the other advice, keep this in mind:

2010 Home Game Prices*
Mississippi State - $50
West Virginia - $50
Tennessee - $50
McNeese State - $40
Alabama - $70
UL-Monroe - $40
Ole Miss - $50

Don't know the answer to the first question. I would guess in the 50+ range but that's just a guess.

As to how they make money - a lot of these are probably either corporate tickets that they give to employees or clients, or else people that decide not to go (or get too drunk tailgating) and give tickets to their friends to sell to recoup some or all of their money.

Just walk around the stadium. You'll see people holding tickets up. And you can hold up the number of fingers for the number of tickets you want.

To get the cheapest prices, you should optimally walk around and negotiate with a few people. Typically as the game gets closer and people haven't sold their tickets they get more realistic about the prices. (It helps if you have experience at haggling over the price of things - like buying a car. And also if you're wife doesn't get paranoid that you won't get a ticket and keeps worrying you to buy some when you think you can get a better deal ).

I've never gone to get tickets to a big name game like a Bama game so I defer to others who have on that point.

You can find tickets 15 minutes prior to kickoff outside Tiger Stadium for $100 a piece.

Face value or lower. If you are paying more, you don't know what you are doing.

This.

For any sporting event, one should never pay more than face value because there's always a way to pay face or less out there.

K. That's what I thought. No way I'm paying 200/ticket for two tickets in the nose bleed section.

Have done a number of times. You might have to miss Pre-Game and maybe even kick-off, but very little else.

Lil bit of advice if you plan on buying from scalpers: print a small map of the stadium and bring it with you.

No matter if you've ushered every game since 1936 and you know every seat location, when it gets close to kickoff and you've had 12-99 oz. of brew it can get tricky.

It is directly related to how willing you are to wait till the last minute to get one.

I paid 75 for the florida game in 07, got em for fifty at kickoff at bama last year.

Upper deck tickets will be available for sure.
