No but few teams are.

I do think Les' style makes coming back in those situations even more difficult.

It's hard to believe that a woefully inept passing game will suddenly come to life and win a game when we are down 2 scores late.

Les also makes good points, dropped balls cost us two TDs. Those are caught and people feel diff about the passing game.

I think the problem is we keep being told if things happened differently it would be different. Things keep happening the same way. That is what is concerning.

hell naw a coach with a big 10 philosophy nooo wayyy
look guys LSU has the weapons to score 50 points a game LSU definitely have the arsenal but we play to control the clock and game and I'm not a negatiger nor a coach miles hater les have been great but I'm waiting on the dominance Alabama came through wit not kissing their arses but we've had the talent to do it losing two sec games is a failure to me so I hope the passing game come through for us if that happens we can comeback 3 scores down

Can't you tell, this team was specifically put together to come from behind late. It's pretty obvious.

I don't think it is a wise strategy to build your team for large fourth quarter comebacks.

How would you defend LSU if up by 2 scores late in the game? Would you still load the box or would you drop 2 safeties deep?

What about coming from behind if down by one possesion and executing a 2 mintue offense? What is your confidence level regarding this scenario?

I don't have much confidence that we could overcome a double digit lead late in the game. We certainly have the athletes to do it, but we'd likely have to throw the ball to do it, and I don't think we could complete the passes under duress.

We had our chances to work on the passing game against weaker teams and it didn't go according to plan either time.

If we are playing against Chavis and aTm and need a two minute drill to win, then yes.

I like our come from behind chances in that scenario.

Well, how about this? How was our offense last year? Is our offense better this year? Well less year we overcame a 24-13 fourth quarter deficit to Wisconsin. If we could do it last year, we can do it this year. /stupid thread.

Seeems like as long as we are in the lead and controlling the clock then we are good, but if we ever have to come from behind we will have major problems.

Depends on who and where we play... NOW A team coming from behind and beating us is a way bigger worry for me...............

There is no such offense. Teams down 13+ in the fourth quarter this season have a record of 3-188.

I'm 99% positive all three wins have been against Tennessee.

We still haven't developed the QB position, the receiving corps as a whole appears to be unable to get much separation, and Harris hasn't had enough seasoning to follow progressions, so the coordination of our passing game is much like a newborn colt.

Keep in mind that this is with an offense that probably has the most lethal rushing attack in all of football at any level. We are seeing zero coverage every time out. When the likes of Syracuse and E. Michigan man up w you and you can't play pitch and catch, you've got problems on the way in this conference.

Even Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson allowed us to take top off of defenses in 2011. We had 7 or 8 long TD passes to keep teams honest.

But I haven't lost hope yet. Harris has shown the arm to make nearly every throw, and he has shown more accuracy than I expected, given that he couldn't even get any significant experience last year. The real reason I harbor some optimism though is Fournette as a weapon catching the ball and as a decoy on passing routes that will open the TE.

DeSean Smith hasn't been used much and I think that's by design. The injury to Gordon has allowed Smith to get some good reps in the running game, which could pay big dividends later on when we need him as a pass catcher.

So, I guess what I'm saying in regards to this thread is that I feel this team is infinitely more capable of winning a game on offense in the last possession, or at the very least, getting a first down through the air to run out the clock when that time comes later in the season.

Question is will Miles think so?

Great point and no possible way. Brandon has a great arm, but waits too long to throw, looks down the receivers way too long, tends to overthrow the short ones and underthrow the long ones, throws off his back foot too much and generally is not going to be the QB we all want - or he wants... at least not this year. If we are 10 down in the fourth quarter the game is over. This is not a championship team as much as we want it to be. It's a year away, if we can get a QB. And maybe it's not the QB, maybe it's the QB philosophy. I don't know. But we can easily compare this team to 03, 07 and 11. And while LF7 is off the charts, there are no real playmakers on Defense like 11 or 03 (spears) or 07 (Dorsey). There is no balance on Offense. It is a good run blocking offensive line that Bama, Florida, A&M, and Arkansas will stack the box on and dare us to throw. I think its fair to say the receivers are not getting much separation either. We're just young, very, very young.

Based on what exactly?

When LF is capable of scoring from anywhere on the field you have a chance.

No, because no team has ever came back from such a margin.
