I would rather they just say "if you want to donate to my lifestyle, here is my Venmo/CashApp/PayPal/Zelle"
There's absolutely zero way this app functions without taking a cut unless they have some type of donor or advertisement revenue

This is like having a subscription to OnlyFans
OnlyFootballFans... if you will.
I'll find the door.

I just think it should be run by the school or something. A fan should expect no level of contact with a player…not that this provides it…but it seems a bit blurry how it won’t.
Sorry, this went out the window when players started taking in real money and have open and available social medias. I don't think they should be held up as a paragon of society, but if someone is dropping serious money on a player yeah the fan should expect a level of contact.

Fwiw, all those that you listed (except possibly Zelle I believe) take a cut when you register as a business or are accepting income.

First, it's been going on for decades.
Second, I may have made a few $100-500 handshakes over the years.
Third, why not as this is nothing new, just a variant of the past.

IMO, all monies to student athletes should be funneled through the universities ONLY. I could donate $1000.00 to LSUAD designated for WBB or Baseball or just athletes in general. No outside organizations should be allowed.

I am pro “pay the players”. In context of football, most segments of the value chain enjoyed huge compensation value increase over the past few decades. Players were left behind. Never seemed right to me that TV contracts, coach salaries, University Athletics revenue, jersey sales, etc enjoyed the huge increase while players did not.
That said, I think the value chain should share in the value with the players, not invite new money, sourced by others, to cover for the value chain.
What could go wrong? A bunch of intoxicated frat guys can pool their money to influence the outcome of a game…nothing to see here.

Great point. NIL vs Profit Sharing…may get both in ‘25, but if they do NIL should be restricted to actual ad campaigns.

Theres not really a tampering issue with outside fans & it’s a way to support your favorite players.
Don't disagree as long as there's no communication. Until "fans" start "donating" with elephants, alligators, eagles, and oranges in the comments. If comments are allowed, it feels like the birth of paying kids to transfer.

Sure. They get to buy what they want. Good luck to the both of them - sugar daddy fans and prostituting athletes. I’ll watch less and less, which is healthy anyway.

If this is true, will you also be posting less and less? I think that's a huge win for all of tiger droppings.
