I planned my wedding date for the Saturday after thanksgiving because the Arkansas game is always on Friday. About 2 months after we booked the date, cbs screwed me by picking the iron bowl for Friday instead of Lsu-Ark. Almost none of my friends came. I don't blame them

My fiancee's cousin always puts her daughers birthday party on an LSU gameday. Now, she's getting married on a gameday saturday and i believe the prewedding events will be held on game day saturday's as well.

Live in Dallas, could have had tickets for the Oregon game.... Cousin getting married in NY! In the wedding, plus the cousin is close so I could not skip. Still stewing about it though....

I skip out. Everyone already knows that's just the way it is, so it isn't a big deal.
My 10 year class reunion was the night of the Florida game in 07. I opened the invitation, took one look at the date, and into the garbage it went

I was standing in a wedding for the Florida game last year at the Loews hotel As soon as the ceremony was over he walked up to me and said you are dismissed. I spent the next 3 hours downstairs in the bar, and had other friends running me drinks from the reception. By the end of the game, I think there were more people in the bar than were at the reception.

I can't tell you how many weddings, birthday parties, and hunting parties I've skipped. My best friend and his wife were about to have their first child and the doctor wanted to induce on a Saturday, because he was leaving for vacation on Sunday. That Saturday was the 07 LSU Florida game. I am proud to say my buddy and his wife put it off until Monday and used a different doctor. They're glad they did too.

Someone has told me before that they are getting married on such and such date... and if its during the fall my next reply is usually "you know thats the lsu vs. ______ game right" followed by "did you think about that before you let her schedule the wedding"

I'd skip them.
People in south LA should understand how big LSU football is to people. An exception can be made if it is an away game and they have a way to watch the gaem.

I should have said I don't think it is a big deal and no one has ever said anything to me. If they did, I'm pretty sure I would just give them a 
and say "My own wedding wasn't important enough for me to skip a game, what makes you think your wedding/party is?"
