Do you pre-plan Floyd's exit?

Assuming he starts, do you plan on pulling him after 2 times through the order?
He's had no hit stuff through 4 and then falls apart. The ump had a major factor in that Monday, but it's not the first time this season.
Give hime 15-18 batters, then start the pen with a clean inning.

If he’s doing well let him go until he gets in trouble
(And not until he loads the bases to lead off an inning)

What's his longest outing of the year? How many times has he gotten himself out of a bases loaded jam?

No but you definitely start warming up the pen in the 5th no matter what Floyd looks like. Ty has shown once he loses it it's hard for him to wrestle it back. So once he allows two on after the 5th inning you pull him

I am not sure about pre planning his exit, but you need some arms warming beginning in the 4th to be ready in the 6th. Hell no one was even throwing till he walked 2

Should have someone in bull pen warming up towards end of the 5th or at start of the 6th just in case. He usually doesn’t make past the 6th. And when the wheels fall off for floyd they fall off.

I wouldn’t. Florida has not seen him at all.
Maybe he goes 2 times maybe 3. If he is dealing let him go. You don’t want a situation where you stack 1-2 walks and then give up a big inning so that should dictate how long he stays. Oh and we need big points today.

He was dealing Monday, then all of a sudden out of no where the bases are loaded and WF scored their only runs in that inning.
Based on that game, when would you have started the pen warming up and when would you have pulled him?

Dont pre-determine exit, but also have someone ready in bullpen before bases get loaded

No, but you pre-plan when his leash goes from long to short

I think the benefit of telling him pregame that he's getting 15-18 batters (6 innings if he's perfect) is that he doesn't lose confidence in himself when the pen is warming up in the 4th or 5th.

There is no pre-planning frick right now. The baws have to be ready to go.

He walks two in a row and he needs to come out

Of course you preplan who comes in depending on situations. You’re not pre planning outs or a set inning count. Gotta take that by the flow of the game.

Once you get to the 5th with him you better have someone in the Pen that can get ready quick. He will meltdown. Its not if its when. He will get to that point where he gets into trouble and is not mentally strong enough to fight his way out of it. Same as it always has been. Anything more than 5 with him is a bonus.

If our bats are awake, might not matter who is on the bump.
