We never played them and minus 3 recruits we didn't compete with them much at all. The AP gave them a meaningless trophy. I don't really get the hate.

LSU vs USC 03 would have been one helluva game. That USC team was loaded.

I've never hated USC. Why would I? We won the crystal football, so they can bitch for eternity and it won't bother me.
I do hate the media for pushing their agenda, which I believe had more to do with an anti-BCS bias than it did USC.
ESPN jumped on board when FOX bought the BCS broadcast rights in 2004. Sportscenter even had that ridiculous segment with Mark May in 2005 where they predicted how USC would fare against the greatest teams of all time.

USC and Norte Dame were big annoyances and will be again but I don't them being good. The LSU v Florida game was our big game in those days until Nick ruined our lives.
