What exactly makes you think Arkansas can score 30 or 40 on LSU?

Our D hasn't given up that many points all year.

I'm not so sure they will. The biggest weaknesses in our offense have been 3rd down conversions and against the better defenses, giving Mallett some protection. If we can do well in those two areas, I think we can put up more points than LSU's average points allowed.

Seeing as how we haven't been able to accomplish that on the road this year though, I'm not going to get all giddy inside thinking we will this week.

Well, I'm not him but the assumption would be Arkansas has a better offense than any team LSU has faced this year.

They average 2 points more than Florida per game. They are only slightly better, statistically, than Florida and Auburn.

Florida scored 13 on us. Auburn scored 10, with the TD coming in mop up time.

LSU has one of the best defenses Arkansas has faced all year with the #8 scoring defense in the nation (Alabama is the only defense that is better, and Arkansas scored a whopping 7 points against that team.)

Arkansas will NOT even get close to their scoring average in this game (38 pts).

On that note....its time for me to eat. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Florida's defense is also better. I watched Washington and Ole Miss give the same defense fits.

But have any of these teams had Gary "It worked, let's try something else" Crowton as OC?

We'll probably get like 12 delay of game penalties too while Miles and Crowton out think themselves.

Arky is more of an on and off team. When their of their pretty bad, but when their on, they are lighting it up. Let's just hope they aren't on against us

Did either of these teams put up 30 points on LSU?

What does that have to do with how many points they scored?

This is my first post here.... and as a Razorback fan I must confess that I am not so good with X and O's in football.... I hope this is a great game. It is refreshing to think that we have a chance to win this game. The past few years it was clear if we won it would be a huge upset. I believe this should be fun to watch.

I hope it is a game decided on the field by the two teams.

I hope both teams are healthy and play hard... nothing better than a good ole blood and guts slugout.

Happy Thanksgiving LSU fans!

I agree assuming LSU is mentally prepared for this game.

That's a huge wildcard.

The smartest offensive game plan would be to run Ridley out of a power I or pro set. Arkansas has a suspect run defense. A ball control offense would limit the number of possessions of our opponents, help out our defensive unit and take the pressure to keep scoring off of a young quarterback (other teams have been using this same strategy against us - please see TOP for the last 5 games). Problem is, Crowton cannot be expected to implement such an obvious answer and Miles, though he is the HEAD coach and is making $3.8M per year, cannot be expected to ensure that his OC implements such a game plan. So, I expect futility and irritation on Saturday. Regardless,

Arkansas is the most schizo team in the SEC. They are either going to get blown out or play great. There is no way to accurately predict this game.

No response woopig? I mean, it is a pretty bold assertion to say Arkansas will put up 30 on a team that hasn't given up 30 pts. all year long.

Well, we did put up 20 on the Gators and that was the most points scored on UF the entire season (and held UF to 13 points below their season average) and we nailed Auburn for 44, also their season high (and held them to 11 below their season average).

Then there's the USC-E game where we scored 33 and limited them to only 16 (4 below their season average), and MSU last weekend where we doubled them up 42-21 (3 below their season average). The Florida Gators were only able to score 29 against MSU and gave up 19.

If we can even approach what we have been averaging on offense and hold you at or below what your season average is in points scored, we will win.

Seems like I remember several "do you realize how bad the La Tech defense is?" threads...

Somehow I think that Crowton will find a way to make the Hog defense look very good.
