TJ will be here. The progress is slower than I would like, but it is still there. He needs to get a better feel for the talent in this region of the country when it comes to recruiting, which I think will eventually come. It was not like his last school was running him off. He has to have something going for him.

The best SG in the state the past four years has not even been ranked in Rivals Top 40 SGs, nor the top 250, so forgive me if I'm not sold on Malik yet.

I do think he is one of the better LA recruits in the last few years, but don't really expect him to immediately be a Marcus Thornton type scorer like we need.

Meh. They basically admitted that they were out to get him. Listen Im all for supporting TJ and hope he wins and does it the right way. However he does need to continue building. If by 2014 we are struggling wed be fools not to give Pearl a call. I wont begrudge a man giving a couple free meals to hungry college kids. Especially if he puts a little life in the program.

Yea, and he would be the first coach released from his contract early. If that were true then yes, dumb thread. I promise there is a buy out in his contract be it him leaving early or LSU letting him go early. And I'm the dumb one.

Forgive me if I don't base my opinion on basketball recruiting around rivals 250.

Considering Thornton didn't come directly out of high school, I wouldn't use him as an example as an immediate contributor from high school.

All things considered with the basketball program right now, yes, I think it's a very dumb thread. Come back in five games if we implode but right now? Please troll.

If you want to paint it this way you can but he straight up lied to the NCAA and that will always get you in a world of shite.

This is a non-starter with pearl to begin with right now so I'm not even sure why you brought it up.

Yea, Troll is the name they've had my season tickets under the past 9 years.

I didn't bash the guy. I just asked a simple question. I'm a troll yet you've posted about 5 times on this thread. Must be of some interest to you.

Johnson is finally getting the program how he wants it. I think we need to give him 3 more seasons before we start considering firing him.

Troll is the name I give nooby posters with terrible handles that flood the board with stupid threads at inopportune times.

If LSU fails to make the NCAA Tourney at the end of the season do you start looking for a new coach? Even if he makes the NIT.

Yes. No. No

If we reach postseason play, he remains.

I find it funny how some people, such as yourself, look at recent happenings as opposed to an overall body of work.Based on your comments, you are cool w/ TJ if he wins these next 5 but any problems over that time and your opinion may change. I guess you were cool with Miles until the BCSNC? You probably rode his dick for 13 games and then the goose egg came against Bama and you figured it was a good time to jump off. Just b/c the guy has a winning streak going doesn't erase the questions about recruiting and the program as a whole. Hell, reading you replies is like talking to my 3 year old. You can't come up with anything so your go to is calling someone a troll. Well how about trolling my nuts once you decide to jump off of TJ's.

Rumor according to Jordy who is usually spot on since he deals with Trent with the TV show is that Alleva will make him hire someone with LA ties - no names mentioned but by all accounts Trent will be back with adding someone with local ties to help with recruiting.

if they win a game in the NIT, certainly give him one more year. I find the fundamentals of this team solid. They actually aren't terrible at shooting free throws.

No, I have the ability to manage expectations. We started the year with a lot of new players, and we played up and down. The script for the year, including SEC play, has been exactly what everyone pretty much expected, or should have expected, if not a little better. Most thought 8-8 was likely, some 9-7, and some 7-9. We have a chance at 10-6 in league play, which would place us possibly as high as fourth in the conference.

That's a good year if that happens. The year isn't over, things can change, but I'm not going to sit here and think that a fire tj thread is appropriate considering the current state of the team this seaso.

I'm not talking about one more year on his contract, moron. I'm saying this season has locked him in for one more at least. He isn't going anywhere.

I think this would be a good thing.
