Victor has actually been a breath of fresh air. Nice to see his FT% improving

The first time Simmons came out last night, I don't think victor came into the game so it was fun to watch all 5 of our players standing around the 3 point line looking to find a bad shot to take

And if Maravich could have played as a freshman, he would disagree also.

His smooth, "effortless" style can be mistaken for not hustling. Id like to see him get nastier on defense and take over games offensively, but thats not really his game.

I'd like to see him assert himself when the team is out of whack and doing stupid shot (last 2 minutes last night)

If he's #1, he has to take over control. I didn't see that leadership and it bothered me last night.

We all know Jones won't do it!

Chris Jackson and Shaq disagree.

I mean he's top 5 in the SEC in points, rebounds (1st), assists, and FG %. He's putting together a great argument.

Shaq's freshman year he averaged:

13.9 ppg
1.9 apg
12 rebounds (led SEC, like Simmons)
3.6 blocks (led SEC)
2.9 turnovers

Simmons is going to be first team all American. I don't believe shaq made it as a freshman

I'm miserable because life is pointless and people suck.

Now, do you care to explain how Simmons shoots FT's like Shaq?

It would help if Jones didn't try to rest him and Victor at the same time.

Shaq had to share with two first round draft picks in the very next NBA draft, Chris Jackson and another 7'0 player in Stanley Roberts. Also, All-American teams at that time were infinitely better than now because you actually had great upper classmen still playing college ball. I'm certain that if Shaq and Simmons both entered the draft at the same time, Shaq would be drafted first.

The biggest problem is that when Simmons came out the entire lineup from LSU was backups. We had 5 backups in the game at one time, so obviously UGA snatched the momentum and cut into our lead.

I have a problem with team's effort as a whole defensively. They are so individually talented offensively that they think it doesn't matter how many points the opponent scores, they will just outscore them. They aren't national title contenders with that attitude. They could be if they decided they were going to give 40 minutes of 100% effort defensively. They have the depth to give that kind of effort.

I think he occasionally loses focus but I wouldn't say it is effort, meaning more mental than physical.

I often think they should spell him, but the curse of him doing so many things at an extremely high level is when he goes to the bench, you can't really replace most of what he gives you. The fact that they need him to defend, score, and rebound means, that you'll probably lose two of those things by putting someone in from the bench.

You're certain that he would be drafted higher after high school?

He throws too many lazy passes for my liking and takes some plays off on defense. But overall he plays hard.

yea, Shaq after his Soph or JR year, maybe.

after his FR year, no way.

AS for Simmons, i like his effort. Though on D he stands around a lot. I feel like he could have a bigger impact there, but i understand saving energy with the minutes he plays
