This year no, it was a massive mistake to not go hard after a few good defensive backs and defensive lineman in the portal. But next year the offensive line, wr and te rooms as it sits are gonna be considerably worse. I don't see how you address all of it effectively in the portal with the youth and inexperience we have at those positions. They obviously aren't ready or would have seen a few of them by now.

We are poorly coached, generally unmotivated, lazy, and lack fundamentals. Those are the problems, not talent.

Every fanbase says this, if we're being honest.

Issue w LSU and coaching staff is they ALL suck when given multiple weeks to prepare. That needs to change for LSU to be successful again and start getting into 12 team playoff. Winning is what it’s all about. Losing 1st game of the season right out the gate for last 5 years has got to change! Being competitive against Alabama after bye week is another needed behavior change. Alabama plays very well against us for some reason and we don’t play well against them for some reason. It’s more than just take talent. It’s mental and all in LSU’s head.

The last two years, Alabama has just been a bad matchup for LSU.

No amount of preparation is going to fix that.

This is all crap & typical ranter talk. The truth is those losses were due to the weaknesses of the middle of the defense being exposed. DT, LB & S. Also, the inability to run the football because IOL issues played a part as well.

And this was all due to injuries to Guillory, Perkins, and Dellinger. Injuries happen and good teams have enough depth to fill in historically, but in the transfer portal era it’s getting harder and harder to maintain quality depth. LSU experienced more than its fair share of injuries this year and it wrecked the season. A little more luck injury wise and/or a little more depth and this team is right there.

i worry about the intensity or physicality of the team. Some games it's not noticeable, some it's embarrassingly noticeable.

Completely agree. Might need some sort of revamp in the strength and conditioning department.

Hell. Bring Tommy back home. You know damn well he would come back. His family still lives in BR. He’s only at A&M because it was a job opening. We already brought back other guys who were let go when Kelly came in. Don’t care what Tommy’s title would be but why not? Id even have a chat with Cochran. Just check his pulse and see if he’d be interested. We need some fire.

Case and point: if we had a good defense we don't lose to USC, Fla. or aTm.

Bama was the only beat down.

False. Jayden was kicking their arse last season until they knocked him out of the game. The D just had to get one stop then either a lucky fumble/pick or another stop and we walk outta Bryant Denny with a 7 to 10 pt win. It was tied at half and we were down 7 when he got knocked out of the game.

Bama straight up murdered us this season though. Not arguing that at all

man it don’t even have to be GOOD. Just a decent defense that can rise to the occasion on third downs and get off the field. Ranked 7th out of 16 in the SEC would be fine
