Do we have an unknown WR on the roster that can step up ?

Is there one on this list that can be a reliable pass catcher ? ( I know about Dural,Johnson)
What about someone riding the pine, that maybe just needs a chance ?
I am not trying to trash our starters on the list, but it boggles the mind that other teams have these no name WR's that can catch everything thrown at them.
(See teams like La Tech, Texas Tech, SMU or Houston, etc...)
What about Fobbs,Minaldi,Lang,Smith or LaBorde.
Can these guys play, there has to be a reason they are on the roster..
What about Kavahra Holmes ? We really don't have the luxury for someone to fully mature.
Thoughts ?

Dural is out for the season with an injury, right? Or was that a different WR who blew out his knee?

Jarrett Fobbs was highly recruited and LSU had to work on him for a couple weeks to get him to reconsider going to A&M.
This is his 2nd season (3rd if you count his red shirt season), and he has to be wondering now if he's made a big mistake.
Still, with true freshmen getting reps in every game, you have to wonder where in the depth chart he must be...

Armand Williams is the guy I thought would be stretching the field about now. Clearly, he has some issues keeping him from field.

What true freshman WR is getting snaps every game?

I have heard its hands, so it must be bad to be behind the others guys.

Sheppard.he is still unknown and he is a senior

Dural would have been the guy playing alot, and he would have been important as a guy with some height who can stretch the field. assuming he heals nicely and Leslie lives to his billing, the receivers next year will be way better. We'll actually have 2 tall/fast guys who can threaten defenses and allow Landry and Odell to work underneath. Having that element would change everything.

What I thought as well Armand Williams. I would start letting James Wright in on more pass plays though being realistic...

Well, I mean that freshmen are playing all over the team-- The line, defense, running back...
That means it obvious that experience is not really the determining factor.
I infer that since they play in other positions on the team, there's nothing to prevent them from playing WR, either, so he must not be high on the depth chart.

What about the unknowns ?
Williams cannot be any worse than what we have seen so far.

Hell lets try him. He has a little height

we need to use him in some 3 wide out sets, if we ever get around to running them, anyway….
line OBJ at slot on the opposite side as Wright and the defense would have to worry about the deep ball, if Mett can connect on one eventually, and the middle with a big, tall receiver running a drag route across the middle… similar to what the Saints do with Colston and Devery.. stretch the field and make them commit to stopping the underneath….. and for Christ's sake, pump fake and/or play action!!

Perhaps the same guy who is designing the routes is teaching the kids to catch the ball.
It would certainly explain some of the issues.

I don't understand why we don't run cross routes, the only routes we run are slants and comebacks

I recall Bowe and LaFell dropping lots of balls early on and they turned out pretty damn good. These guys will get it soon.
