Oh God -- Bama had a SR qb last year and we had JL and they took us to overtime.

We ran all over them.

Strictly based on a recruiting, this comment is hilarious. If you take the average of the last four recruiting class rankings (rivals) LSU and Bama are basically identical at #6. Not sure how we can be pulling in the same talent and have the same caliber program as Bama (LSU's program has actually been MUCH better in the past 5-10 years) and yet they have "too much" for us. Thats good stuff.

Bama is the most overrated team in the country by far. Lose 3OL starters, their QB and their leading rusher and they expect to just come in a have the same offensive success as last year. How did Bama do vs. Utah without Andre Smith?? 30 rushing yards and 1 offensive TD...thats how they did. Good luck breaking in that new OLine and QB in week one vs a veteran VaTech defense, I just hope they don't embarrass the SEC like they did in the Sugar Bowl. Bama loses three games this season, VaTech, Ole Miss and LSU. Top five my arse, have fun in the Cotton Bowl fellas

Personally I don't think we can speculate on LSU-Bama until 3-4 games into the season, too many unknowns at this point.

I agree.

And their TE and FB, don't forget. Basically every piece of their running game except for two OL are going to be new starters, while they're breaking in a new QB.

And people say that was excusable because they had to replace Smith and his backup, as if replacing a starter and a backup is somehow a more difficult task than replacing three starters. And that was with their experienced, 5th year SR quarterback.

We have no shot. We shouldn't even play the game. PS, Bill Curry is a douchebag that has no clue.

I also think bama will struggle to score points this year. If they can't protect their QB and he gets hit a lot their season could really fall apart. I think their best case season is 9-3 since they replace 7 offensive starters. If the offense puts the defense in some bad situations like ours did last year with turnovers, it could turn into 8-4 or 7-5.

If Arkansas has the high octane offense that some are predicting, bama may not be able to keep up with them. Also, Tennessee and Auburn are big rival games and anything can happen in those type games. The best team does not always win. A team that struggles to score points can get beat in lots of ways.

It'll be just like most years. We'll beat them unless they "upset" us. Bama hasn't caught up to LSU and Florida depth wise yet. They're still chasing us. I don't care what the media says.

Saban's offenses are always underwhelming. Last your Bama struggled against Tulane. Malveto pretty much shut them down. Their offense is: run, run, throw to Julio on 3rd down.

Listening to media, they feel like Bama is now the new king of the west and Ole Miss is the "right now team." They refer to us as if our program is on the decline. Last week Bill Curry was on the radio in Atlanta and he said Bama has too much fo LSU to compete with and are on a different level. Has anyone been paying attention to the last three years of recruiting? It's ticking me off.

1.) LSU has MORE talent than Bama.

2.) You have to go back 5 years on recruiting, and we are even stronger there.

3.) Of course we are "on the decline." If you don't win the NC the year after you did, you have to be on the decline. That's just common sense.

4.) Any SEC team can beat another.

5.) We may be the favorite in that game anyway.

6.) Are you a Bama fan?

I think Bama '09 will be similar to LSU '04.

Saban comes off of a very successful year and has to replace a lot of starters. 9-3.

They win one of their marquee games and lose the other three (one to LSU, of course.)

I was thinking more like LSU '02, when the recruiting depth had not yet kicked in fully and he had to replace so many elements of the '01 offense (plus the opening game against Va. Tech makes the comparison nearly irresistable).

"The media" is mixed. They are not all saying the same thing.

Let the games begin in the Wild West.

Best team wins.

I wouldn't sweat it.

The two prior season, Florida and LSU "backed in to" BCS Championship games vs the mighty Ohio St., Florida gets another one (with the same record no less) and is all of a sudden the greatest team ever, just like the past 6 USC teams.

Just a couple years ago, people argued that Florida shouldn't have even been in the game, but rather a Mich/OSU rematch. Now people argue what team has the best chance to "earn the right" to play Florida?

Things like that are why I don't let the media get to me in any way. I listen to it, I discuss it, and it makes for something to talk about and pass the time, but I don't let anything the media says regarding who's who affect me in any way.

I just have one question--when in the last 8 seasons have the Tigers NOT had a "realistic shot" to beat an opponent?

I'm sorry, sir. I don't know you. Can you clarify what it is that you are asking me? I'm an officer in the United States Army. I am currently stationed in Iraq.

I'm sorry, I guess I was a little distracted by your "creative" use of grammar. The second part of your "sentence" appeared to be a question, "..are you going on Holiday", which I interpret as a UK way of saying, "Are you going on vacation?"

However, the first part "looks like another expensive kill of innoncent (sic) folks" - are you suggesting that I, Ace Midnight, "[look] like another expensive kill[er] of innocent folks"? Because, and forgive me if I'm wrong, that appears to be what you are saying.
