Considering all the blunders as of late...it's scary to wonder. We are LSU , right? We can't even nail down 2nd and 3rd choices...and.. this isn't the first time we can't..Oh, by the way, the gumps have already hired 3 NFL assistants with no issue...hmmm

People not associated with LSU that read this board are really amazed at how dumb the posters are. Other than that I have nothing

LSU is in a tier clearly below the power 5 (Oklahoma, Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame), and is only arguably in the same realm as Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State, USC, Oregon, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida State, Texas, Washington, Stanford, Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia, etc; but clearly is a step above Indiana, South Carolina, NC State, Oregon St, Miss State, Maryland, Texas Tech, etc.

LSU is above all of those teams you mentioned except for OSU, OU, Bama, and Clemson. LSU is in the same tier as all 4 of those teams, and if not, just a step below them

ND potentially could put together a team that makes a run on a down Bama year, but it would require massive luck, just like 2019 LSU. Oklahoma is probably further away as long as they keep having average defense.

Nah. LSU has had one elite year since 2011. Those four have dominated their conferences for years now. LSU is clearly below them and if anybody says anything about Oklahoma, there is no way in hell LSU beats any of those Oklahoma teams led by Mayfield and Murray with the teams they had those years.

Just because LSU recruits like an elite program, and spends like an elite program, does not make them an elite program. Until we can be consistently elite, don't act like we are in that tier and don't act like we are just a step below. The only teams that are a step below that are Notre Dame, and prior to 2020, Penn St.

Ed fails more than he succeeds and that is why we are not elite. Until he can get consistent with hires, recruiting (shouldn't have years where the LB group is shite and we have one 4 star OL), and in game management, we'll still be considered just good. Not very good, not great, and definitely not elite.

lol, no. FSU won one in 2013 and has declined ever since. Auburn won in 2010 and has had only 2 years with double digit wins since. Winning one championship is the end game for the year, not for them program. The program needs to remain at the top to be considered top of the chain. That's why Ohio St is still considered elite even after having their last championship in 2014.

How many of those teams listed would have beaten LSU in 2020? How many in 2018? Stop using outliers to make your point.

NO.

We (the fanbase) think of ourselves as equal to Bama. People word it all sorts of different ways, but the reason Miles was run off, was because he wasn't beating Alabama regularly. They point to our run in the early 2000's and say "See? We were better then, we should always be better".
Nevermind that Bama was down and we were at the pinnacle of success here. This would be like Oregon losing their minds if USC revived and took over the Pac 12 again, or Wisconsin fans demanding firings because Ohio State woke up and took the B1G back.

LSU is a very good program, and capable of runs. Alabama is the clear #1 for the last decade, and in strong discussion for best overall.

Well all of those teams have a luxury that LSU doesn’t have, and that’s Bama and Nick Saban in their conference. LSU is a big time program and is in the same tier as all of those teams.

LSU is a laughingstock failure of a program on tigerdroppings.com and secrant.com. Other than that I feel we are generally respected.

Yeah, they dominated THEIR conferences. You do realize that this is the SEC that we are competing in, AND, Saban is at Bama? How many conference titles do you think ANY of those teams would have in all of those years if you stuck them in the SEC west?
