Who ya g????????

As a Buckeye alum, I've got to go for the Scarlet & Gray.

Since you're an old timer like me, do you remember the 1987-1988 OSU-LSU series?

In 1987 at Tiger Stadium the two team played to a tie in Earl Bruce's last season.

I was in the stands at Ohio Stadium in 1988 when the unranked Buckeyes in John Cooper's first year upset the Top 10 ranked Tigers in a great game from my perspective, especially since that was the highlight of the year as that was one of the few years the Bucks were under .500.

Little did we realize that Cooper would be as bad as he was in beating good teams even when higher ranked over the next dozen years.

I can get behind that...

It’s kind of like if a local Baton Rouge High school QB commits and signs with LSU. Everyone sees how good he is but Les Miles (per say) decides to stay with his upper classmen QB instead. A few years and many QB battles later, this Baton Rouge QB leaves Louisiana for some school up north like Penn State. If this kid would have the same kind of success that Burrow is having here, then I could certainly see supporting the kid. Especially, if he has Burrow type leadership on and off the football field.

I’m from Baton Rouge and an LSU grad, so I would definitely support this local kid that went up north to find huge success.

I have to admit that LSU's intentional safety and the free kick didn't work out the way they wanted, but it was a great comeback for OSU.

I can can remember watching Woody Hays in his day doing a quick kick on 3rd down to surprise and prevent the other team from getting a good return.

I've often wonder why LSU didn't do that instead of the intentional safety and free kick.

DUKKEV, it's a shame you are 60 and your reading comprehension is so poor.
The answer to your question is in my first post.
Now wipe the Cheeto dust off your hand and go check it out.
Since I'm several years older than you I'll answer your boast with this:
The Old Man always told me that if someone had the need to tell you how smart they were---it usually meant they weren't.

I was there.

Andolsek and Spielman would be involved in a pregame scuffle. They would both later be drafted by the Detroit Lions, and become good friends. Upon Andolsek's untimely death in a tragic car accident, it was Spielman who, in fact, eulogized him.

Yes those two were just different sides of the same coin. Both played the game to the max. It's sad Andolsek's life was so tragically cut short.

I was a freshman at LSU and was crushed by OSU's comeback since LSU was dominating in their first 2 wins against A&M and Tennessee. I feel like this was the game where Archer's time as head coach began its downward trend. Piss poor play calling up 33-20 with less than 4 minutes left in the game was no excuse for the coaching staff. Did anyone remember that the OSU students rushed the field? Lol

I live in Ohio. Every Buckeye fan I talk to really likes Burrow and are pulling for him at LSU, until they face the Buckeyes.

I am an OSU fan and love Joe. Would be very happy if he won Heisman and goes very high in the draft. If LSU and OSU were to meet, my ideal result would be for OSU to win a squeaker and Joe to have a very good game.

Really hope that Joe and LSU can beat Bama. Would add that Joe stands for everything that is the best in football and team sports.

I’m a Burrow fan for life because I watched him in high school. I stared following him after he committed to OSU. I’d never seen anyone play in high school that had committed to OSU. This area of Ohio is not a hot bed for football talent. The few good players around here are hidden on bad teams and never get discovered. A few of of burrows teammates got offers but if they had been on any other team around here no one would have known they existed.

His loss in the state championship game was the best high school football game I’ve ever seen. It was him and a bunch of slow white kids vs a state powerhouse. The school he played was more talented at every position on the field except quarterback. Talent wise Burrow could probably have started at all 22 positions on his own team. Take Burrow off his team and it’s a 6-4 team that isn’t in the playoff picture. Take any 5 people off the team he played and they are still in the championship game.

The game was a shootout and the last team to have the ball won. Unfortunately it wasn’t Athens. Burrow would carve them up and score quickly. The other team could get 4-5 yards an attempt on the ground. The talent gaps on the line was very evident. Usually in high school football when the lines are mismatched like this the game is over at halftime. Burrow was brilliant and what impressed me was that he rose to the occasion. He played his best against his best opponent.

I felt like he suffered the same fate as any other small school talent. His talent was 5 star but for the longest time he was a 3 star recruit. He was hidden in a area that no one looks at. If his numbers weren’t absolutely amazing he wouldn’t have gotten a single offer. I knew after Herman left OSU Joe would get lost behind the bigger recruits Urban was bringing in. Even though Burrow looked better in every spring game it was almost like he was invisible there. Maybe it was because Joe was Toms guy and Uban felt like Joe wasn’t his guy.

So I’m a Burrow guy because I can relate to his story. He has been over looked and under appreciated his whole life. Even now the media keeps saying they aren’t sold. First it was let’s wait till he does this in SEC play. Then it was wait till he plays someone good. Now it’s let’s see how he does against Alabama. For every small town athlete that gets passed over Burrow has the chance to say I told you so.

My buddy sent me a text the other day that sums it up. “Just think somewhere out there is another Joe Burrow just waiting on his coach to put him in so he can win the Heisman.”
