In other news LSU's status for the Kentucky game is pretty clear.

I would think that’s better than.

You could give Matt McMahon the OKC Thunder roster for Wednesday and they’d probably only win by 10 pts.

Man, this is looking good. Injuries have killed the season already.

It makes no sense why they won’t say what the injury. Calling him day to day when he really has no shot playing doesn’t really affect how the other team prepares. The other team will always prepare to play a team with competent PG.
I will say this though, any coach who doesn’t press LSU nonstop when Thomas doesn’t play has no business coaching college basketball.

Every coach deals with their leading scorer and the SEC leader in assists going down? Both of our team captains are hurt. It doesn’t mean McMahon would be Coach K with them but sheesh

NET and KenPom both still in decent spots. Lunardi has the SEC at 11 bids right now. Has LSU as first four out. Given all of that, 7-11 likely gets LSU in. Need Dedan back ASAP

What would you have done differently in regards to player personnel with the funds we had?

The injuries suck. CMM just isn’t it. You can’t win with the amount of scoring droughts you have Lu offensively. It’s every year!

I agree he’s likely fired after this year. Just sucks that this team couldn’t stay healthy because it’s clearly a tournament squad which is what we’ve been asking for

Based on what? Blowing out a bunch of terrible teams in non-conference play? We have 1 good win on the season so far.

The loss to SC last week felt like the nail in the coffin, but I am forever a sunshine pumper. Question for the optimistic LSU fans - what is the magic number for us to get in the NCAAT? 8-10? 9-9? # of Q1 wins? If we can get DJ Thomas back Saturday, I still see a path to 8 wins**
If they don't go 2-0 this week, there is no path to 8 wins.
They have Florida and Arky on the road after. You will be staring down a 0-7 start
Best case they win the next 3, MSU, @USC, Georgia, then Lose to Arky and Tenn
So you are 3-9, then hope for a miracle 3-3 finish against @Texas, Alabama, @Ole Miss, OU, @AUB, Aggie
6-12. You have to have the two games this week to have a shot at 8

Advanced stats that are used by the committee had us as a tournament squad before the Dedan injury

The very limited amount of information LSU puts out (and anyone bothers to ask about) keeps calling it a "lower leg injury".
It's an old injury (torn ligaments) that he played through in the past. He reinjured it and hasn't played through it this go round. This seems a bit like a tightrope situation, with both sides weighing whether it's worth trying to get Thomas back on the court this season.
LSU is still a solid bubble team right now, and the SEC is pretty wide open. Neither UK (1-2) nor LSU (0-3) can afford to lose this game, so if Thomas doesn't play and LSU loses, then we might have seen the last of Thomas.

LSU is still a solid bubble team (NET 44, KenPom 40, EM 47), but that won't hold if they don't start winning some games.

I already laid it out for you.

I think you’re severely overrating Texas, Ole Miss, OU, Auburn, & A&M.
Yes we just lost to South Carolina, but with a healthy DJ Thomas there is a scenario where we win at least 4 of those. & I don’t think we go 0-2 against Arky with DJ playing

Advanced metrics don’t mean a thing in December unless you’ve played real competition.
