I don’t see what the point of s suspension is if you can decide to cancel it based on if you need the guy or not. Might as well just not suspend him.
Les Earl and Roger the Shiller and the rest of the Prince Posse will be along shortly to call you names and tell you something like this would never happen, but it’s totally fine and you’re just being a drama queen if it does

O was literally asked in the press conference yeaterday or day before yesterday if Charles was available for wk 1 and he literally said that Charles was ready to go. Was he just straight up telling a lie?
He said he was “available.”
He can be “available to play” and still be withheld from play in lieu of suspension.

It's hilarious reading some of the nonsense some of these asshats post.
It's very simple to understand, the players committed an offense that according to compliance mandates a suspension.
That suspension (per policy) is handled at the coaches discretion.
So, if I'm a coach and I can pick when my guys are suspended you better believe I'm ABSOLUTELY going to pick the weakest opponents.
In the case of Charles, he's a starter at our position of least depth, so as a coach I allow him to dress out in case we need him, so we don't drop the season opener. Chances are, we don't need him and this game will count as a suspension.
From what I understand this is all completely by the book. Some of you clowns saying "suspended players don't dress" are just retarded and contrary. Sure it might be a loophole but who cares?? These aren't NCAA violations and they would not be the first players suspended for certain "choice" games. I swear man, grow up. Anyone who doesn't understand the reasoning behind this series of events is either mildly retarded or being an insufferable cuck.

They are also talking about it on Birmingham sports radio. So annoying.

I personally from what I have seen think Queen has more upside than Divinity.
He knows the ILB pos better, is hungry, and will bring it for 4 qtrs. IMO it hurts on passing downs as M.D. and K.C. coming off the edge would be stout, but vs trip-option Queen is going to sniff out those runs/hand-offs and make plays.

I look back at my average high school football career and regret the 3-4 games I had to miss. And they were due to injury, not disciplinary.
More important, for these guys, it taints their legacy a bit, but it also raises questions going into the draft. The professional guys look at everything.

I cannot fathom how people don't understand this.
He said he is available. They can choose the games players are suspended for. That means they can dress for shitty games like Georgia Southern, but likely will not participate unless we are in a dire situation where he is needed to secure victory.

You and goldrush are the only 2 playing that ridiculous narrative into existence
It’s like you’re making it up just to bash the coach when everyone else knows that is not what is going to happen . Jesus Christ and you are stillbringing my name up, whining about it.

This thread needs more Compliance bashing.

It all depends on how available the players deemed "available" are actually made available

Uh, this thread (not to mention the thread last night) is filled with people saying that is what is happening and there is nothing wrong with it.

This makes no sense.
Let's assume it is a 6 game suspension. If he plays 1 snap in a game, it cannot count. If we end up needing him to beat Georgia Southern in the second half, they'll have to choose a new game, against a tougher opponent to sit him out.
That is pretty brutal.

I have no idea how long it'll be, I just chose a length for that hypothetical discussion.

It's not about understanding. This is a message board where info is leaked out by Joe Blow at any time and it's hard to decipher what's legit and what's not. I just saw a thread saying x, y, and z are suspended. Obviously now I understand that it's internal and not NCAA infractions. Obviously it's easy to grasp that with it being self-imposed that LSU can skirt that how they want it and all of them can dress and just not play and suspension served. With as much bullshite that comes through on this site, specifically the Rant, most of us are just trying to make sense of it all.
