Some of y'all in here need to look at a map. Starkville is the closest to Baton Rouge. I've made a day drive for football and basketball games a few times.

We’re closer to Fayetteville than Tuscaloosa and Auburn?
That can't possibly be right. Maybe as the eagle flies, but definitely not drive time.

Historically Tulane / Ole Miss
Last 20-30yrs Bama / Florida
Weird antics with Auburn for a time that has fizzled
aTm pops up from time to time.

Age old topic.
Geography doesn’t matter all that much anymore. Our regional rivals vary by decade. A&M is definitely the closest one right now considering our representation in and around Houston.
Ole Miss will always be big and close proximity wise.
I still think Bama is the biggest rivalry in the south central region of the country. Just think of how many fans each side has and how relevant each team is.
Not counting in state rivalries, SEC Ranked From southwest to southeast:
Texas Oklahoma
LSU Bama
Bama Tennessee
Georgia Florida
I wouldn’t expect the SEC to have any stoppage in these series above. They’re too big and do numbers that they couldn’t turn down.

Fun fact- I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I live closer to LSU and Auburn than I do to Ole Miss or MSU

Driving from BR to Fayetteville is no easy feat. The all-interstate trip from Baton Rouge to Shreveport is a pain, given the frequent problems with inclement weather, hellacious backups on I-10 over the Atchafalaya Basin due to accidents, and an overall wealth of crazy, reckless motorists on I-49. And there's no interstate north of Shreveport all the way to Fayetteville: US 71 is actually still two lane in a large segment over rugged Arkansas terrain.
