These are basically the same coaches that won an NC except Chavis instead of Pellini. I don't think they woke up with amnesia in Sept.
Everone thinks we have all this talent and maybe we did at one point, but we have lost quite a few signees the past 3 years who would be upper classmen now. QB, OL and DL sort of jumps out at me.
Not much Crowton or Miles can do to fix it except to keep recruiting good players and RETAIN them. Time will fix this. Shep and Jeff will provide enough skill down the road to get the offense back on track. The D is already pretty good and will get better with another good DL or 2.
Quit griping because it's not going to happen this year. I just don't see the great talent everyone says we have. We have a few good players, but not at every position. I still say we drop one more, so get used to 3 losses. I hope we don't drop 2 becasue I think we have enough left in the tank to get 1 more win.

There is never an excuse for booing any team or player. If you don't like the product on the field then show your displeasure by staying home or writing a letter to the head coach but one should never boo a team or player. That is classless. How would you feel if it were child giving everything he had on the field. It is the coaches decision to put him in the game, not his.

I love these comments. Fans everywhere boo. Even the classy Nebraska fans resorted to booing its team during Callahan's last couple of years.
As if booing and stupid behavior only happens at LSU. Get over yourself.

Totally agree with your assessment. You are right on the mark.

I long for the days of Charlie Mac when our guys did their best and the fans were "diehard" fans win or lose. I never heard booing in that era.
Booing was there then, it's here now, and will be in the future. It might not have been as bad cause there was less fans in the stands as there are now, but some LSU fans have never been shy bout expressing their displeasure.
And it's not just at LSU. I heard the same this year at Nebraska, ND, and Okla while watching on TV. We can talk the right or wrong of it till those cows come home, but with the money being paid to college coaches and the money fans are paying to see the product...we are going to hear more of it. imo

Sure Im disappointed in the season.
I kinda wanted to stop reading right here...
we are 8-2 and ranked in the top 10 - we cant win em all every year...
maybe disappointed in the couple of losses (in which we didnt play terrible), but certainly not disappointed in the whole season, surely?

For those of you who don't like booing kids, why do LSU fans always boo the opposing team as they enter Death Valley? Are those not kids also?

I don't know why this is so difficult for some to understand. It's as if they think booing is new at LSU.
Fans would boo and chant help mac pack. Jamie Howard and Josh Booty heard their share of boos. It's what some fans do everywhere to express their opinion about shitty play and/or coaching.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE POLITICALLY CORRECT TOUCHY/FEELY STAR TREK NEXT GENERATION mindset about "NOT BOOING" - it's part of sports and always has been! Grow up!
I played football and baseball in elementary school - when we did badly, we got booed. I played in junior high, when we did poorly, we got booed. I played football in high school - surprise, when we did poorly, we got booed. I'm 45-years-old and my parents had season tickets to LSU home games until 1986 - went to just about every Tiger home game from around 1971 through that time. Booing was NOT uncommon and downright common during Charlie Mac's later reign. IT'S PART OF SPORTS! Whatever level, it's part of the game.
I don't do it myself because I'm just not a loud person, I'm more of an "aww! C'mon!" kinda' guy.
I attend half a dozen local high school games (primarily Live Oak and Central), and guess what? The parents in the stands boo when bonehead play calls are made or a kid does something dopey - shocking.
It's part of the game - this isn't chess. Booing doesn't make you LESS of a Tiger fan, it just expresses displeasure at how a magnificent team is being mishandled. I'm certain Jarett Lee understands that, he's a bright boy and I like him - I don't think he's been given a fair shake at all. He's not a long-ball passing QB and they shouldn't use try to use him as one. Let him throw short, run options, or simply hand the ball off, and he'd be just fine. He's a good kid. In my opinion, the BOOs are being directed at Les and Crowton, but even if some moron is directing a boo at a receiver who drops a game winning pass, that's still fair game. Nobody likes getting booed, and it always inspired us to play better.

I don't believe booing players or coaches serves any positive purpose. I believe cheering after good plays or good calls is a good incentive for our young players. We fans can be silent following poor performance or poor calls during a game. Both coaches & players know when they perform well or not. We then need to cheer the team on at the start of each new play to encourage best efforts.

As for booing which may affect recruiting...
I think that the more serious problem is on the field. If anything, a recruit is going to look at KW breaking through tackles followed by sitting on the bench. Maybe recruits don't notice those sort of things.
When players are confused on the field...that's coaching. Another red flag for recruits.
I'm sure the boos don't help...but it did seem to me on TV that fans were booing the playcalling. Hence, this is why the crowd erupted when KW went back into the game and made some more plays.

sorry, but I dont want a coach like that. You make changes when needed, not at the end of the season so you dont step on anyone's toes.
if thats how's he's thinking he should have been fired yesterday[/quote]

Good point up brought today by Verge on Songy's show.
The 150 recruits sitting in the stands are something to think about, regardless who we're booing.

Regardless, I think the point got across to the staff. If it came at Lee's expense, thats unfortunate. But something needs to change, and if that is what it takes, I'll make an exception.
