Yes we recruited him. Didn’t pay much attention to LSU. Followed Cam Robinson and Cam Sims with the Monroe to Bama trend.

Man everyone was proven right on the recruiting board saying Tae Provens was trash. Dude didn't last long at all. Part of that disaster 2018 class

LSU offered. He was interested. Camped at Bama Saban offered and he was gone.
We like to say Provens was a priority over Bolden. Don't know if it's correct or not.
Bolden was special teams player of the year last year and is in the slot today. Playing well.
I think Bama got the better deal on this one.

There were also, many like myself wondering why so many idiots tried to hype up an obviously awful class. Everybody getting made because we were talking about how it was filled with 3 stars and, trust me, if you follow football a decent amount, you can tell the difference between great potential from a low ranked player, and just bodies. Finley for example is great potential.
It's crazy how it is possibly the worst class of this century for LSU following the best class this century for LSU (2017). If anybody wants to take some time, go look at the 2017 class for LSU. It doesn’t even come close point wise to the top few classes that year, but Bama's top 3 point total all time #1 2017 class, is the only class that comes close to it that year.

No there was a player from Louisiana good enough for Bama to give an offer to and LSU just said nahhh we don’t want him.
Of course LSU recruited him. He chose Bama and it wasn’t a big deal then and still isn’t. LSU isn’t hurting for talent at wide receiver.

Burrow wasn’t a part of the 2018 class, he wasn’t a part of any LSU class

Bolden was class of 2018. Same as Keenan Jones, Jaray Jenkins, Chase and Marshall.. I think we did ok at WR.

However, he was not recruited as a priority. Always seemed someone was higher on the board than him. And LSU didn't really hide it either.
So he was recruited, but somewhere between a "filler" recruit and #1 on the board at that position.
Therein lies part of the rub for LSU during his recruitment. He was recruited as a RB for us, with indeed Provens being a slight priority over him.
Bama recruited as "we will use you wherever we can". They recruited him as an athelete and they told him they saw the value in the versatility at RB or WR (or STeams). We couldn't quite make up our mind; Bama's position was that there was no need to make up their mind.
There's a reason we recruited him as a RB. That WR class included Marshall, Chase, Jones, and Jenkins at WR. There was no reason for LSU to seek another WR in that class.

Maybe Slade’s uncle can verify if there was a true offer at the end? Several WM coaches say there flat out was not an offer from LSU, Canada was so wishy washy during the process. Daboll(Bama OC at the time) was definitely enamored with SB.
