I am offended that the original poster had the audacity to ask a question. I don't care if his thread title explained exactly what his question was. I could have not clicked on it but that's beside the point. People who don't know everything about the travel schedule of the team shouldn't be allowed to post. Of all the nerve...

Furthermore, I'd like to be the fifteenth and certainly not the last person to question the intelligence of the original poster. And if that's not enough, I'll just make fun of him in the most demeaning way I can think of while using poor sentence construction and bad grammar.

This isn't the science club, math team or women's soccer. They didn't take a bus 8 hours to Atlanta.

Everyone already pointed out this is a ridiculous question..but

They will be there a week, so I can't imagine they had to get there in a hurry.

I don't think you realize the schedule these guys are on. They're not going to waste a whole damn day riding a bus to Atlanta

Even mid major football programs fly every where they go

Interesting fact: Back in 1985, LSU let the players drive their personal vehicles to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl. I knew 2 players on the team who confirmed all they did was drink beer and smoke weed on the road trip. Guess that’s one of the reasons why LSU got embarrassed and never showed up to play Baylor. The Tigers only score came on a Norman Jefferson PR. Dalton and James had less than 100 yds combined rushing and Baylor had 500 yds of offense. What an abomination

We drove up there too. Sat in a miserable cold Liberty Bowl and the team just refused to show up. Weather sucked, team sucked, drive home sucked. I’m so glad we’ve risen above this mediocrity.

We gots the money for a one hour flight.

I may be wrong on this but I believe the bowl games pay for the teams to travel and the lodging during the stay. Now the support staff and all being flown might be on LSU.

Is it typical for the teams to leave an entire week prior to kickoff? Typucalky they arrive on Thursdays before a Saturday game.

Teams are normally only in visiting city for 36 hours for road game, but this isn’t a normal game. CFP teams have more obligations that need to be met plus the standard bowl game events. Everything is essentially transferred from football ops to the Marriott and set up. Team will prob use multiple venues to practice which could require a second 18 wheeler to haul all practice equipment to go along with the equipment truck that travels with normal game equipment.
