Did SI & the nation forget about Joe Burrow already?
New SI (consider the source) article declares Trevor Lawrence as the best QB to come out of college into the NFL in a decade! What???
You mean the guy that lost the NCG to Joe "Heisman" Burrow from LSU!
How do we let SI know how we feel about this?
Trev Lawrence best QB to enter NFL in decade?

Being a better prospect does not mean that he was a better player. There is a distinct difference when you were talking about professional measurables. No need to get offended about every little thing.

This is about NFL potential.

Peyton Manning never won a championship and he was the best QB to come out of college in his time period.

Literally the only thing Trevor has on Joe is arm strength. And Joe has more than enough of that to go along with everything else he is superior at.

But these people crowned Trevor 3 years ago as the best ever. They can't admit they're wrong, now.

Nick Foles would be better than Tom Brady by this logic.

Best “prospect” is what they’re saying.

Being a "prospect" is also about more than just measurables. If it were only about that, Trevor doesn't really stand out over all the other big, strong armed QBs that come out every year.

If you're going to rate a prospect, there has to be something he does on the field that separates him from others. Like I said in my above comment, Trevor only has one attribute over Joe, and that is arm strength. Joe shredded Trevor in every category in 2019, and did so against far superior competition.

This is just lazy prognostication, hyping a guy up because what he did to Bama as a freshman, and they all thought he would break every record. It didn't quite work out that way, despite his free ride through a cupcake schedule every year.

I’d like to mark it down that Lawrence will be a huge bust.

Lawrence can be rattled
And the NFL rattles all of them, even the great ones

That's a joke. And Joe is a much better runner than Lawrence.

Trevor about to have a ride awakening when he’s playing in the nfl and not the glorified high school ACC

We all like Burrow but Lawrence is clearly faster.

Bigger hands too, can’t forget that. Might be the most important measurable.

One had three playoff appearances and one natty, the other had one playoff appearance and one natty. If you take of those absurd p&g glasses you, and your brethren, might see things the way the rest of the world sees them. Just a thought.

Burrow has more pocket awareness, and is a more decisive runner. He knows where to run to pick up a first down.

Lawrence has more acceleration and top end speed in open field, but he'll be sliding in the nfl if he wants to have a long career.
