After all is said and done, did Michigan ever tell Les Miles that the Head Coach job at Michigan was his if he wanted it?

So he was offered the job then. He wasn't just interviewed for the job? You know this how?

he may not have been offered the job but the ball was in Miles court both times that Michigan was looking for a coach and he decided to stay at LSU both times

it really doesnt matter if he was ever offered because I guarantee you that Michigan would love to have Miles over Hoke or whoever they are going to end up with

They wanted Miles, they didn't do all this for courtesy. They may try to save face and claim it was not formally offered, but there is no doubt they wanted him and I didn't need to be present in the meeting to know that.

I've been through many a job interview for projects that I really wanted, but didn't get the job. I'm simply wondering if Michigan ever told Miles that the job was his if he wanted it. Does anyone know this for certain or are you just talking out of your collective arse?

If it were once fine - your analogy would work. How many companies do you know, who return to interview the same person for the same job (if they had rejected him the first time around)

well, if they hire hoke, do you really think that was their first choice? yeah, we interviewed jim h. and les m. but hoke was our #1 choice.

you really believe that?

No proof of this at all. PERIOD. He was never even interviewed the first time around, and I honestly think Brandon was doing this to try and show his fanbase that he went after a big fish after Harbaugh before they settle on Hoke (their real #2).

There is no proof of any of this....and we will never know. Do you honestly think UM will admit that, "yeah we offered Miles, but he turned us down." No chance in hell. It is just illogical that UM would take all of this effort to fly down here and interview a coach that has been in the spotlight for the past 6-10 years if they weren't going to offer him. It just makes them look bad that Hoke is their 3rd choice. That is why I think they offered Miles and thought he would accept. Again, I have no evidence to back this up...no one does.

Really? Care to show me proof Les was offered a legitimate contract to UM? I love how you have absolutely no proof other than he interviewed with them and random internet sources, but I am the one who can't see fact in that.

Mich fans like to spin it...but as one admitted, do you really fly all the way to BR to ask Miles for his advice about hiring...clearly, they came to hire him...many of the UM fans were ecstatic over the possible hire.

That's right. After Michigan sources leaked that they were having discussions with Miles' agent and Herbie Hiccups "reported" it Lester pulled the plug. Who knows what might have happened had LSU lost to UT that day? Like most moot points, it doesn't really matter now.

Perhaps after screwing the pooch with the Rich Rod hire, the administration was simply covering its arse with the Les Miles interview, as in, we interviewed several candidates and in our opinion Hoke, or whomever they eventually end up hiring, was the best overall candidate for the job. That way the large "Hire Les Miles" contingent is neutered and somewhat placated.

Mafia is the same guy who continues to think that Bertman is the AD. I'm not sure he even knows the name Aleva.
