I think Rice said thanks but no thanks.
His ceiling is probably a low G5 job. He could get a job in FCS but probably sees himself as above that.
That has to grind his gears to see Orgeron in the position that he's in.

LOL at you tards who think Canada turned down the interview with Rice. The truth is Rice didn’t want to interview him. And why would they? He hasn’t proven anything. The only way he’s a head coach next yr is if he’s roaming a high school sideline

I've said since he was hired:
Canada needs LSU more than LSU needs Canada.
I love his offense and I want him to stay, but he has a bad rep and is at his third school in three years -- including one firing.
If he would nut up and stay at LSU for five years he could get a head coaching job at a legit school.
If he leaves, he will be worse off. If he leaves, LSU will be the same or better.

From the accounts I have been hearing, he sought out the interview, so it is doubtful that he turned it down. More than likely he found out what the salary range is there & realized he would have had to take a huge salary cut. As in huge.
