I doubt Rice can afford his buyout.
Correction: If he leaves for a non-head coaching position at another SEC school or to a school within 500 miles of LSU, he owes 40 percent of his remaining salary. If he leaves for similar positions outside of a 500-mile radius of LSU, he owes 15 percent of his salary.
There is no buyout after Dec. 1, 2019.

Nah he just hates Rice. Saw him Walkons one time eating his gumbo like it was soup.

He hasn't been in the south long enough to appreciate rice. Probably a potato man.

Awesome, there's one in Zachary now, I'll have to try it out. Never knew that.

If you way to call it that, sure

Basically, covers any direct competitors we have in recruiting this region.
500 miles stretches out to Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, all of MS, AL, AR, 2/3's of Tennessee, 2/3's of Georgia (including Atlanta area) and the whole FL panhandle including Tallahassee.
Gainesville is JUST outside of 500 miles

How about Leverage? It’s how this stuff works. It also keeps you sharp, strengthens relationships and broadens networks. Assistants who don’t do this stuff, at some point, will likely go down with the ship.

So if he leaves for a HC position, this is waived entirely? And he owes 0% of salary?

Where'd you see that? ...or just inside info?

How about it was kinda just a joke (though I wouldn't be surprised if had a tiny bit to do with his decision). Hints the "pimp" emoticon.
