Hope BK's gamble on JD pays off

It already did.

and he improves as a passer.

He’s got to. He simply must. And I think Jayden, Kelly, Sloan, Denbrock, and everyone else who has LSU’s—and Jayden’s—best interests at heart know this unequivocally.

Kelly did his job and brought in players to compete for playing time. Not his fault that some holdovers from the previous regime were too soft for competition.

This is a too simplistic explanation. It fails to account for why they came here in the first place.

Got us a decent season by LSU standards and lost us 2 QB's to quitting and transfer.

Seems like a wash so far.

Getting Daniels in the transfer portal definitely altered the plans for the QB room. But like I have said you have to do what is best for the team to win now and cannot operate on what you believe is best for a position group in the future. Whatever helps you win that year you have to do it. And clearly I think Kelly was proven to be right that Daniels was our best chance to win last year.

Now this season that could be Nuss beats out Daniels in the Spring and Fall practice because he gives us the best chance to win next season. Only time will tell but I do think Nuss gets significant playing time this year if he stays because Daniels is an injury threat because of how much he runs.

I think he did. I don't think the season outcome was worth it. I'd have been okay with 7-5 with good development in the passing game.

I believe the QB competition was a farce. I think JD was given assurance he would be the starter short of a major injury. IMO, Nuss is the better QB. I think Howard is aware of the circumstances and sees his shot at becoming a starter is elsewhere.

JD said in a summer interview that "he didnt transfer to sit on the bench". Which woulds support your hunch.

Which you could argue fricked up the QB succession.

You could also argue the earth is flat. You'd be wrong on both counts.
