I can't really think of a reason that we would be reallocating scholarships right now. Kinda shitty if true but I find it hard to believe.
With that said, just bc he wouldn't have been on a full ride still doesn't mean it wouldnt suck to have to pay more out of pocket than you originally thought

It bothers me, more than it should, that people don't know/understand that D1 baseball as a max of 11.7 scholarships that they split amongst a roster. And that 11.7 is for a FULLY funded baseball team. There are PLENTY of D1 teams out there operating with 0-6 total scholarships to split up.

Baseball coaches work VERY CLOSELY with school admissions departments to recruit kids who qualify for grants/academic scholarships.

It’s not 40. You can only split the scholarships up between a certain amount less than the roster limitation. It used to be 27 players on a 35 man roster. Not sure what it is now.

Right! 11.7. Never could understand that .7. Its been that when I played in the 60's.

The 11.7 has been in place since 1991. It was a 10% reduction from 13 scholarships as part of Title IX compliance effort.

Negative. Maybe some get to 100 percent with academic scholarships but there aren’t any players with a 100 percent baseball only scholarship.

If he transfers, I highly doubt it is because of scholarship money. He was a JUCO transfer in. With 11.7 scholarships, it’s safe to assume he wasn’t getting much in the first place.

Scholarships have little importance to this baseball team. What little value a fractional scholarship had is peanuts compared to NIL money.
