Carat is used for weighing diamonds (and other stones.)
And ”K” is used for Potassium on the periodic tables of elements. So it could happen

It's liability coverage is actually greater than the value of the trophy, which thanks to today's price of gold at ~ $4,200/ troy oz, is itself very substantial.

200 pds. which is 2400 troy oz. This latter figure, multiplied by 4200. dols./oz, equals, well, megabucks!
Our beloved boot... is literally worth its weight in gold!

The Boot should enter the portal and get melted into something better.

it’s a forced rivalry, we don’t gaf about r-kansas, forced award, and even the announcers were embellishing yesterday, saying the tradition of the “boot” goes back almost 70 years

Pounds or Tons? I thought I read that it weighs 2,000 tons!

It does look heavy, though. It seems to be something of a strain on 4 or 5 big fellas.

Blair did say that after the game

From wikipedia:
"LSU leads the trophy series 21–9. Since 1996, the winning team has received the 200-pound, $10,000 "Boot" trophy. The trophy itself stands a little over four feet tall, is molded out of 24-karat gold, and is formed from the combined outlines of the states of Arkansas and Louisiana, which resembles the shape of a boot. The Boot was created by former Razorback linebacker David Bazzel. According to Bazzel, it was intentionally made "as big and gaudy as possible, because I wanted to create value in it with gold and size," also making it the heaviest true trophy in college football."

A lot of people don’t know that it’s not actually a boot. It represents the shapes of the two states.

quote:Am 76. LSU never played Arkansas more than once or twice in a bowl game before they entered the SEC. I only remember one Sugar Bowl when pre-SEC Arky was ranked 2nd, unbeaten. And Cholly Mac’s Tigers were 7-3 but beat them Hogs 14-7.

yeah, I’m not going to rewatch that mess from yesterday but I thought I heard them say LSU holds the lead in the battle for the boot 45-23, or something similar, about 2-3 times

Maybe we could sell it to pay for buyouts and a new coach ?

Give it to BK as the buy out
We already gave BK the biggest boot.

LSU and Arkansas played each other frequently for over 50 years, from the early 1900’s to the late 1950’s.
They played some games in either Baton Rouge or Little Rock, but most of the games were at “neutral sites”. Dallas and Memphis hosted several games, but Shreveport was the most common location. At least 25 games between LSU-Arky were played in Shreveport.
Then quit scheduling each other until Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992.
From 1956 to 1992, they only played one time, the 1966 Cotton Bowl.
