I noticed in the fall practice photos some of the players did and LSU baseball just posted some promo photos and the Beloso has a beard. It’s about time

No having fun

No horse playing or rough housing either. And none of those shenanigans.

I think it comes from his time coaching Air Force. One of those discipline things. I can’t say I agree with it but I also can’t say that I give a shite whether the players can have beards or not

In the most recent press conference he said it started with his first coaching job. It was the only way to be able to tell the coaches from the players.

There are plenty of baseball teams that don't/didn't allow facial hair. The New York Yankees are (or maybe were, don't know if it changed recently) one of them. Ever heard of them?

My opinion it’s a great rule to have. It’s all about discipline and rules. He’s the head coach, follow his rules. Same stuff working stiffs have to follow, get used to it.

Baseball can be a weird sport, with weird unwritten rules, weird superstitions, weird traditions. No facial hair isn't something that CPM just all of a sudden decided was going to be his rule. It's been around baseball for a while, and still is some places.

I don't care either way. Personally, if I had to shave my beard I would probably be depressed. It's not some unheard of rule to have in baseball though.

It was beards but for some reason mustaches were okay.

I don't care about them having beards. I just wish we would be uniform about keeping the socks up or the pants down. Personally, I prefer the socks up. That's baseball to me.

Skip let players have facial hair. Goatees were pretty prevalent on his later teams. Wilson didn't start getting weird with his appearance like that until his 5th or so season in the majors.
