Someone started a thread on bashing him a few weeks ago when he was commentating Tennessee game and people were livid saying anytime Dick B commentates it’s a good thing etc.

paid on what basis? The conference they are in and their points/rebounds/assists per game? Every single college player is going to get a stipend? is each one going to get paid equally from the lowest ranked team to the highest? Why? Why not? Do you factor in the dollars being spent on these people already?

Wrong. Jay Bills is now their lead game commentator. He does the Saturday night prime time game every week during the regular season. Vitale has been bumped to No. 2.
