Avoid maybe not, discount perhaps.
Since Katrina and under Payton ( starting in 2006);
LSU had 2 players drafted by the Saints. Al Woods in the 4th round in 2010 and Tommy Clapp in 2018.
During those 15 drafts there were a total of 101 players drafted.
Payton really doesn’t favor the SEC although the SEC usually leads the conferences in players chosen.
Non power 5 21 picks
ND 1 pick
Big 10 20 picks
SEC 16 picks
ACC 16 picks
PAC 12 picks
Big 12 4 picks

TBH, I only root for LSU players in the NFL. Great job to LF and DW

The worst part as a saints fan is you could see the LSU pads on the replay after intercepting Brees. Never been more conflicted in my life.

What Saints get and deserve. Both him and Fournette stuck it to them. Congrats to LSU boys

And why? Why would they do this?
Conspiracy theorists rarely ask what is the motivation for the conspiracy. Finish this sentence:
The Saints studiously avoid drafting LSU players because...

Well, then why do they? Explain please.
They have two LSU players, which is MORE than the average team, so your premise is wrong.

Okay, so the average team should have drafted 3.15 and the Saints drafted 2. Wow! That is remarkable! So all they had to do is draft one more guy and they would have been almost exactly on the average.
Oh, and if they were really avoiding LSU players, why did they draft Clapp and Woods? Seems easy enough to just pass on those, too.

Kamara consistently makes NFL linebackers look silly, and Devin made him look non-existent in the passing game.

Just to justify their anti-LSU bias. They will point to those drafts and say "see, we tried".

I think it's pretty telling for a second-year player to be a captain already. You don't normally see something like that in the NFL except for at the quarterback position.
Devin White is the best player on the entire Buccaneer team, and it's really not that close.

It’s disingenuous to use the raw numbers without the context of where the players were drafted.
e.g., Devin White and Leonard Fournette were drafted 10-20 picks ahead of the Saints. Is it your contention that the Saints should have tried to trade into the top-5 to get these players?
Further, it’s equally disingenuous to not talk about production of some of these players. LSU puts a ton of players into the league, no doubt, but not all of them are can’t miss prospects. 30 other teams often pass on the LSU players, too.

THANK YOU! I was just about to make a post about how surprised I am that nobody is giving Jared Cook enough credit for that loss, and then I saw your post. :)
