This is obvious from the first game when you see a true freshman defensive lineman starting with a bunch of transfer starters from all of college football. The PFF bad grades on first game were not warranted he was taking in and drawing double and triple teams every snap and since then he has continued to get pressure and catch guys slipping.

No doubt. I’m not sure what’s more impressive, him doing it at his size or at his age. That’s just not a position where 18-year-olds even really play, much less start, even more less dominate an SEC OL, who are typically 20-22 with 3 or 4 years of a college strength and conditioning program behind them.

I was skeptical in the spring when he took over as the #1 DT basically the 1st week. I figured he must be good, but I thought that was more of an indictment of our DT room. And, it probably still was to some degree. Nice to see the 2 portal guys making plays last night, but McKinley needs to figure it out. Anderson and Brown clearly aren’t ready yet. (As are most freshmen DTs, so no knock on them at all, just underscores how good Geralds is). And I think it was Marlon Favorite in the post game talking about how smart he is, how he understands leverage and angles like a vet already.

Gonna be really fun watching him the next few years. Gonna be pretty expensive too, though.
