I think mom worked for OLOL.
They were also hit very hard by the flood and could have used (and probably still could use) a cash infusion.

These are random observations and in no way imply that is the player mentioned.

Doesn't go nearly as far as you'd think.

$350k is plenty money but like any amount of money, you have to live according to your means. If you make $350k and spend like you earn $1M, there is going to be a problem.

So it is alleged hearsay from someone who cannot be named.

Off with his head.

It's pretty simple. You know what's better than 350? 450.

Nothing is better than 350 on the OT

Under what assumption do you make that claim. Seems strange that someone wouldn't know how far 350K a year will go. Why would I or anyone else not know?

I get your point, but he’s right. There is a great explanation of this in Tom Wolfe’s Bonfire of the Vanities. The character, played by Tom Hanks in the movie, makes $900,000 - and this is in the 1980’s! Wolfe adds up his expenses, and the salary, after taxes, is barely enough. The expenses are not really that extravagant, either - fancy private school for his kid, sport car, parking spot in Manhattan, that kind of stuff.

At the end of the day all you have is the same stuff people who make half as much have; it’s just a lot more expensive. You can say, well, just don’t buy that stupid shite, but until you’ve been there, and felt the pull, you just don’t know. That’s what Tom Wolfe was showing us.

For example, a booster likely isn't going to just cut a $50k check to a player and/or his mom. However, he might "donate" to a non-profit who then hires the mom and pays her for some do nothing job.

That's definitely a cool way to pay players and their families, we should try it more often.............or not

This scenario is not necessarily all bad for the Foundation, which might easily persuade the donor to make a fully tax deductible donation to the non-profit with the understanding that only a portion will be used for a designated purpose.

That sounds a lot like.............wait for it..............the Clinton Foundation!
