I think it's rather refreshing and relieving to see that this staff has plans for this offense and can open up if given the opportunity to.

Yep, using Jennings as another RB fits better. He just isn't a passer.

One has to wonder why we waited till the 12th game to see this.

A dual threat QB thrives in a system that allows him to run?

Not sure we opened it up but the play calling was a little different tonight. Open it up means we throw 15 - 25 yard post and out patterns downfield. Not sure we saw too many tonight. Jennings is just not capable as a passer

Exactly. What I took from this game was the basic 2 week prep for THIS D. Honestly we make the 3 FG and T White knocks that damn ball down... This game not even close.

A&M can make even A J look like a serviceable QB. It wasn't our offense. It was their defense.

For heaven's sake. This was aTm, the same defense Auburn put 41 on and Bama 59.

We should have been running the read option all year.

no doubt the shitty defense helped our offensive output

but the whole offensive playcalling scheme was better, even when we couldn't execute.

I've been assured here that the fact that other teams were able to crush A&M means nothing BC transitive property

I don't give a shite who we played. We ran more jet sweeps than we have in the last few years combined. We ran the read option and more QB runs. We didn't lineup and run up the middle like did all night against Arkansas.

I'm sorry if you can't see the changes tonight in the run game.

I liked the changes but I think a lot of them had to do with the A&M defense. They were vulnerable on the edges and they got abused there tonight.

What I noticed tonight was that we actually tried misdirections. We ran the jet sweep and then the whole game, we kept going to it, either actually running it or just having a wideout run by and handing the ball off to the RB instead or Jennings taking off himself. We never saw that before tonight's game. I think little wrinkles like this keep the defenders off and gives our playmakers opportunities. I have no idea why we couldn't do this earlier in the year. We usually run the freaking dive or just the same plays over and over into a wall of 9 guys.

Sure, the aTm defense is bad. But it was nice to see something other than a power run game all night long.

It's hard to understand why it wasn't part of our offense before tonight.

Doesn't matter. Anybody that has watched any LSU games this year knows that the offense was called much differently this game. They played free, and to their strengths. Looked kinda like Urban Meyer's offense at Ohio State. I'm telling you, if Jennings could throw, man! Great thing is that we have Harris.

This offense can do some serious damage next year.

Great gameplan tonight, and the execution was great for the most part. Some penalties and mental mistakes cost us, but I'd agree it was our best overall offensive performance since UF or UK. Jennings had some good plays on the ground and through the air, and ultimately was more than good enough to win.
