Desmond says that the SEC should say "This game will be played on November, 19. LSU, you will buy out Southern Alabama and you will play in Gainesville on that day, or you forfeit the game."

Yep they were all dogging on LSU on CFB live today, funny how no one is mentioning on TV that LSU has been in this situation in some respect 3 different times recently and was able to play the game that weekend. Against Tennessee played on that Monday and lost, against ASU and LSU gave up their home game and went on the road that Saturday and won miraculously and then LSU hosted South Carolina when they were in this predicament and gave them the gate from the game.

My point being is that there is history and a successful blue print on what should be done and how these situations should be handled but the media is not looking at history and its success because they are lemmings!!!

What didn't they know Thursday morning that they didn't know on Wednesday morning that caused them to cancel?

I will tell you what they did know. They did know that a state of emergency was going to be issued at least by Friday morning. They also knew that if a state of emergency was issued, that the SEC office could not force them to host this game. Plain and simple. They slow played until they knew it was imminent that there would be a state of emergency declared in Gainesville, poof, game over.

December 3rd is the best option

yea, no.

That would push back the SEC championship game by a week. And push back the college playoff committee's rankings by a week. And push back the other bowl selections by a week.

So you think it's a viable option to affect all of that just so we can play on Dec. 3?

Because the time for Sankey to hold UF's feet to the fire was last week. Because Sankey already allowed the postponement of the game, it's nearly impossible for Sankey to now lower the boom on Florida.

So the game will most likely be played Nov. 19 in Gainesville, and the SEC will buyout USA and Presbyterian.

Now all the immature folks here can downvote the hell out of me, but this is reality. Yes, we got fricked. No doubt about that.

But this is reality and we better start preparing ourselves for this outcome.

If this ends up happening, it will be after our AD has drawn a line in the sand and said publicly that "LSU will play a home game on 11/19". I made a comment yesterday that he probably shouldn't have said that yet and got hammered on here.

the entire panel was pretty much against lsu on that discussion. They showed the UF head coach interview and made it seem like LSU didn't care that thousands of people were without power and some lost lives that we just wanted to play football. Not a one said anything about florida injuries or the attempts to reschedule that weekend at a different location or different day.

I liked Alleva's aggressiveness with that statement, but it's going to be a hard one for him to hold to, since he ultimately doesn't have the power to set the location of the game. His only leverage is to refuse to play, but of course that's not a real option, if we're in the mix for the West. I think Sankey will order it to be in Gaineville, since that was the originally scheduled location.

Desmond is nothing more than a company ESPN man. ESPN is driving the agenda for the Southeastern conference. Make no mistake.

Oh I agree. I used to watch college game day cause it was rather entertaining. But now I just make sure I know what channel the game I want to watch is and go from there. I do try to catch the end though to see who Corso picks. It's the last thing that's original on that show.

That's fine but the SEC and FL need to accommodate LSU with the schedule the best possible way because it's their fuk up. This has nothing to do with LSU so we should have not one inconvenience fuk FL and the SEC!!! Really FUK them

Dear Desmond,

You are clearly a class act. But you are wrong about your recent comments concerning the recent Florida vs LSU fiasco. You need to familiarize yourself with some basic facts.

UForfeit :

*Refused to play on Saturday. At the time of their choosing.
*Refused to play on Sunday.
*Refused to play on Monday.
*Refused multiple neutral venues of their choosing on multiple days.
*Refused to play at an empty stadium of their choosing.
*Refused to play in Tiger Stadium.
*Only responded with "the game will be played in Gainesville. Period."

LSU made it clear it would do essentially anything to play the game, including picking up UForfeit travel costs ot flying in and out of ANY venue including Gainesville on the day of the game. This was expressed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday right up to the point of cancellation.

In light of these facts,LSU has no intention of cancelling a home game . Particularly because our community has just endured the worst flood event in our history, and we are relying on the 20 million dollars in economic activity that a home game results in to keep our local businesses moving forward. And of course because this is one of a very limited amount of times we are able to see our Tigers play in the greatest stadium in America.

I would suggest you publicly propose a solution that does not involve further penalty to LSU and our community. We made every reasonable effort to play the game (and some extraordinary efforts) and were met with unreasonable responses of every single proposal. In light of that, and considering that no other SEC schools wish to juggle their schedules to make this happen, I suggest that the University of Florida takes the forfeit, and we all move on with our seasons. Just because the University of Florida made a series of unfortunate choices and unreasonable demands, doesn't mean they have the right to further victimize LSU or any other school.

Sincerely,
LSUpimp

uh, no. Grew up in BR and graduated from LSU. Tiger fan to the core. But I don't view the world through purple & gold glasses.

I don't see how it's "against LSU" to say that I think Sankey will order that the game be played in Gainesville on Nov. 19.

Do I want it that way? No. Is it fair for us? No. Did Foley work over Sankey? Yes. Was Sankey weak? Yes.

But I live in reality, and I just think Nov. 19 is when the game will be played, if LSU or Florida is still in the mix.

And by the way, if that game is played, I think we will be so pissed that we will absolutely beat the snot out of them.

So, those are my moronic, Florida troll thoughts.

Why not just say we will play the game on 10/29 in Gainesville and if THEY don't agree to it, then THEY forfeit?

I believe we have an opening on our schedule then.

When that happens, it's almost always a failure in leadership. You can have blueprints, processes, and checklists all you want but when the rubber hits the road if the "manager" is not a "leader" it all falls apart.

The failure is on Sankey.
