You think Lawrence is faster than Joe? He's a special player but I haven't seen him run the way Joe has (in very limited time I've seen Lawrence play).

OU doesn’t need him. 5 star freshman Rattler is waiting.
If King chooses OU he won’t start.

For the 1,000,000,000th time...King did not quit on his team. Dana Holgorsen tanked the season and asked King and a few others to sit out the remainderof the season and redshirt in order to have them next year.
That doesn't sound like a recipe for keeping your job in college football
No, it doesn’t. You don’t get a higher draft pick for tanking in college. He may have assumed he had enough capital in his 1st year to not get fired, but why not ask more than just 3-4 guys to redshirt then? And why in holy hell would he ask King to do it without knowing he’d come back to Houston? That’s dumb as frick.
Speaking of dumb as frick, I know it’s an exercise in futility to argue with TigerRee (who hilariously tried to pick a fight with Baloo in this thread—if there’s anybody Ree wants no part of a battle of wits with, it’s Baloo), I will address his “position” in this thread with the full confidence that any side he and Fat Bastard have teamed up on, is almost by definition, the wrong one:
What do we think Joe Burrow would have done if, after a 1-3 start, 1st year coach Dana Holgerson had approached him and asked him to sit out the rest of the season, to quit while the the rest of the 20+ guys he was recruited with, the 85+ guys he had gone through spring, summer, and fall workouts with, went to “battle” 25+ times with, continued to play without him, their leader. Do you think that would have been an acceptable proposal to Joe Burrow? Because I don’t. I think he would have ripped the few remaining strands of Holgerson’s rapey hair out of his head for suggesting such a thing. There would have been a fricking mutiny.
I don’t know exactly what happened in Houston—and Ree can post all the links he wants of articles written by people who aren’t King or Holgerson. Maybe the truth makes one or both look better or worse. But it’s weird and a red flag that has to be vetted. I’m mostly with Baloo on then loyalty thing—if you preach family, you have to live it. The program is bigger than one season, and you have to see the bigger picture. It’s hard to recruit young talent to a business if you never promote from within and are always hiring outside for top positions. And if Orgeron has ever earned the capital to not have to sell his soul for one season, it is now. That said, he does have a responsibility to all the other players too. And if, after 4 years, he still doesn’t think Myles is the guy, then I trust that he’s seen more than enough to make that call.
I have no real dog in the fight—I’m not emotionally attached to Brennan or opposed to King. We just need to know there will be LSU football seasons after 2020, and I hope O feels comfortable enough now to do what’s in the program’s best long-term interest. And that may very well be thanking Myles for his service and bringing in King or another grad transfer. Either way,

Here is a wild card. I have noticed all season that on the sidelines a walk on QB named AJ Aycock wearing jersey # 3 has the headsets on and along with Parrish helps to send in the plays. He also is seen many times sitting with Burrow, Brennan and Parrish on the bench. We have 2 other walk on QB's who are nowhere to be seen. Checked up on this kid from Arkansas and he is 6' 5" 215 redshirt freshman. Found video of him and this kid can not only throw but can run. The LSU staff must think an awful lot of this kid to have him sending in plays and sitting with the starting QB and his immediate backups.
Don't be surprised if he is not in the mix next year. See his high school senior highlights below.

Go get him. May the best man win the job.

Who is pursuing King? I have seen nothing reported any time since he stopped playing.

If LSU kicks tires on any QB transfer, that should tell you a lot. By now, they should know what he can and can’t do. If they have faith in him, they are gonna try to put enough pieces around him to be successful. We don’t need a one year character issue leading this team if we have a guy ready to go.
I'd say it more means that the staff doesn't have faith in the backups. I think you need someone to push Brennan for the job and I don't think any of the current freshmen or incoming class will be it.
That said, if I'm King, I'm not going anywhere where I wouldn't be guaranteed the starting job. There's no doubt that LSU wants King, but King would have to beat out a guy that has a cannon and time in the system.
